Children's LiteratureThis brightly colored board book measures 6 1/2" by 6 1/2". The front edges are nicely rounded for small children. It is the story of a little fish so full of energy that his mother suggests he swim around for a while until he becomes tired. He swims out of his cave and practices some loops and spurts, encounters some unfamiliar sea creatures, and finally swims into the mouth of another cave. Unfortunately it is not a cave, but the inside of another fish. Fortunately the little fish does not settle well with the big fish, who ejects him, and he swims safely back home. The back cover says it is written with rhyming and onomatopoetic words, which is the publishers way of suggesting the book uses interesting ways of putting words together to make them fun to read: "He dived and he flipped, he leapt and he dipped," or, "He wiggled and squiggled, he darted and giggled." The reader will enjoy saying the words and they will be fun to hear. 2005, Tiger Tales, Ages 1 to 4.
