    MY RATING~ 4/5

    MY THOUGHTS~

I chose to read this book because I received an ARC of Red Hot Obsessions for review and this book was included in it.
I really liked this book! At the beginning, I was sure I was never going to get into it. It seemed like it was going to be kind of cliche and the same ol' same ol'....then BAM! Not so much! Once I really got into it, I couldn't put it down!
I had never read anything by this author, Clarissa Wild, before but, she's made a fan out of me! I will continue to read her work for sure. I can't wait to read more of the Fierce series! I will definitely be purchasing those as they become available!
Fierce is well written with much attention to detail and I really like that. You really feel as though you've gotten to know the characters by the end. It just leaves you wanting more of them!
    Well done Ms Wild!

Hunter and Autumn will take you on one heck of ride. This book has it all humor, love, mystery, and drama. Autumn starts out as your typical nerdy good girl until she meets Hunter. Hunter brings her out of her shell but also exposes her to a world that she might not be able to handle. Hunter is the ultimate bad boy and he has so many layers that you get to learn about throughout the book, Neither one of these characters have had an easy life but to see them both grow and come into themselves is amazing.

This book kept me turning pages from beginning to end just to see what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen the book took me in a completely different direction. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt so connected to the characters. Hunter stole my heart. I would highly recommend this book!

Ok, let me tell you.  I totally fell in love with Hunter and Autumn.  This is truly a story about having faith in the face of doubt, holding out hope when things seem hopeless, and finding that someone who will always fight for you.  Let me explain a little about what touched me so much about this book.

Autumn Blakewood is a geek to the core.  She was picked on and put down all through high school.  She is scared as hell about starting college.  She is afraid that she will be treated the same way.  She does not see herself as much in the way of looks and personality.  Growing up very poor, what she wants most is to succeed in her studies, so that she can give her family a better life.  She is happiest when she is surrounded by books, and her best friends Brody and Evie.  Although, something seems to be happening with Brody and he is not the same person that use to stick up for her in high school, have her back and protect her.  She is totally taken off guard when the hottest, sexiest, dangerous guy that she has ever laid eyes on takes an interest in her.  Little does she know, her association with Hunter Bane could be her downfall in more ways than one.

Hunter Bane is built like a mac truck. He has the looks and the attitude that make most girls drool and most guys keep their distance.  But from the moment that Hunter lays eyes on Autumn (Leafy as he likes to call her) he can't seem to get her out of his head.  He goes out of his way to be near her, even though he knows that having her near could put her in danger.  See Hunter is in a club that demands their members sell drugs and fight in the arena for money, but he is doing all of this to try and save his older brother Jessie, who has taken care of him is entire life, and now finds himself in prison.  All Jessie has ever wanted for Hunter was for him to live a good life, go to school and make something of himself.  But with a learning disablity slowing him down, his interest in Leafy growing stronger, and the dangers around the them getting worse, Hunter will have to make some decisions that could put himself and everyone he cares about in great danger.

What I loved most about Hunter and Autumn is that they never gave up.  They are fighters by nature, wheither by choice or by the surcomstances they are always trying to see the best in each other.  Even when Autumn does not understand why Hunter is acting and doing the things that he is doing at the time, her faith in the him never truly wavers.  She see the scared, hurting person inside the rough and tough outer shell.  Hunter will stop at nothing to insure that Autumn is safe.  He loves his brother and will do anything to see him free, but not at the expense of Autumn's saftey.  He knows that it is because of her that his life has meaning, it is because of her that he feels he can over come the learning disablity that has plagued him all of his life, it is because of her that he strives to be a better person, someone worthy of her faith and love.

I totally fell in love with these two character, and their chemistry is off the charts.  I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

    Wow just wow

Loved it. I need me a Hunter Baine. He Fierce, loyal and really a sweet soul. Leafy has a heart of Saint and a soul of an angel. So very opposite , yet opposites attract.

This book was a first for me by this Author.
The story was ok, it didn't grab on to me but I did finish it.
The fight scenes were ok, The way Hunter defends Autumn is wonderful.
In this story we have Autumn Blakewood a good girl who loves to read. She is now in college and sharing
her dorm room with Evie her friend who ends up wanting in her bed. Her best friend is now a druggie and
     it has really  upset  Autumn.
On top of all that she now has the hots for the bad boy at school Hunter Bane.  Hunter has a lot of baggage
and he is a fighter but he also seems to have a heart and a soft side that is pulling Autumn In.

This book is about a nerdy girl starting her freshmen year of college and a boy who is doing something dangerous to save his brother. She is very attracted to said boy but doesn't think she has any chance. She wants for the figure out this boy so badly and help him. Turns out he likes her too but is scared to mess her up or get her hurt. I liked this book right away after only reading a few pages. She really is drawn to him and wants to help. She sees him differently than other people. I love how he is so worried about her and protects. I can't wait to read fury.

The overall plot of the book was interesting. A girl who conside

The overall plot of the book was interesting. A girl who considered herself a nerd in high school is nervous to start college and not know what to expect.  In high school, she studied and never really went out.  On her first day she meets the sexy, bad boy, Hunter, who she can’t stop thinking about.  Hunter has secrets.  He is a part of a secret fraternity that is involved some bad stuff.  Autumn has always been a good girl, but it is hard to be a good girl around someone like Hunter.   Hunter knows that Autumn is a good girl and he should stay away, but he can’t.  He is also worried that once she finds out what he is involved in, she may not want to be with him anymore.
Hunter is a very likable character.  Even though he is doing thinks that are not legal, you begin to understand that there are reasons he has to do them.
This story is written in first person in Autumn’s POV.  Some of the verbiage was wordy and felt forced.
Evie, Autumn’s best friend was just a nuisance to the story.  It was stuck in Evie’s head that since Autumn and her were nerds in high school that anyone outside of that circle was not a good person.  She brought up issue of “us” against “them.”  I never thought that there was a “them” or an other enemy. May be if I got a flashback to a certain time in high school then I would better relate.  Evie was whining and causing drama where there was nothing to complain about. I just did not understand why Autumn wanted to be friends with her.  These types of “best friends” can aggravate a reader.
I liked that this was not an insta-love story.  There was a nice twist in the end.
A copy was provided by Clarissa Wild via NetGalley. Thank you.

    2 STAR

I found the plot lacked direction or any real depth, the characters needed development both in their backgrounds and personalities. The story has potential with some more work on plot and character development.

I just couldn’t connect with this book or its characters. Everything was slow and unrealistic to my eyes.

I received this as a ARC for a honest review.....1 geeky girl with only 2 friends that has been made fun of all her life, 1 bad boy that is out for revenge. This book was so great on so many levels!!!

Autumn who has had a life of dread with bullying goes to College on day 1 meets the bad boy that she can't get away from. No matter how he tries to keep her away she knows there is more to him and won't stop until she finds out what.

Hunter the bad boy who seeks revenge to clear his brother wants Autumn but also wants her away from him. He needs her, he wants her but he also wants her safe.

This is such a realistic story, I truly finished this book in 1 day. So well written I felt a part of the story. There are many twist with this book that you really should read!!! I hope there will be more!!

Excuse me while I stare at that cover. *sighs and wipes chin*

    Okay. Moving along.

Autumn just wants to live her life as she's always done - studying, keeping her to herself and hanging with her best friend. But from the moment she steps into campus, her plans are immediately altered. Especially when she meets the sexy and handsome Hunter, who ignites feelings in her too strong too ignore. Drawn to his fierceness and intrigued by the vulnerability she's glimpsed, Autumn soon finds herself involved in a world she never thought she'd be a part of.

This was a great story to immerse myself in. From the start, I liked Autumn and was curious about Hunter too. Clarissa Wild did a wonderful job in drawing me into the story by moving it along at a right pace. I liked that Autumn was shy and affected by Hunter and that he in turn showed her something other than his cocky side. I wish I could have experience his side of the story, but I don't think that it took away from the story.

As the story progressed, the more intrigued I became about Hunter and his story. It was quite interesting to try to figure him out and the world he lived in. The author brought this part of the story forth without taking away from the development of the connection between Autumn and Hunter. With every event placed in the story to garner the most impact - from the emotional interactions to Hunter's flirtatious ways - the story flowed along nicely. I was absorbed in the story and wanting to see where it all lead.

Although there were a lot of emotions in the mix, the story never felt dragged down or overwhelming. I liked that the emotions were nicely ranged and complemented what I had come to know about the characters and the growth they had achieved throughout the story.

All in all, a slightly edgy, romantic read about new experiences, acceptance and embracing the love you were gifted with.

I liked Autumn. I have never been comfortable in social situatio

I liked Autumn. I have never been comfortable in social situations so I could relate to her nerd status, preferring her books and studying over attending parties. Her best friend Evie is her sidekick and they have each other's backs. As usual for Autumn, her first day on campus is eventful and she makes a stellar entrance but she catches the eye of Hunter Bane who nicknames her Leafy. Autumn has no experience with relationships but she is drawn to Hunter which excites and terrifies her at the same time. Hunter is hiding a lot of secrets but he is drawn to Autumn and even though he knows he should stay away from her, he keeps putting himself in situations to see her. I liked their back and forth and the way they both helped each other. Autumn showed Hunter that he deserved to be loved and Hunter showed Autumn that she was desirable. I also loved how Hunter helped Autumn find her inner strength ... the ability to be Fierce.

Actually 3 1/2 stars but I rounded up. The nerd girl and the hottie bad boy - the yummy factor is delicious. I enjoyed the story and found it creative, and must point out that Ms. Wild is quite adept at the steamy sex scenes - whoohoo - had to throw cold water on myself a few times! Could easily have been a 4 star rating but the ending seems rushed and incongruent. I like her work and hope to be reading most of whatever she cares to scribble for years to come.

    Five Star Read
I don't read a lot of college angst type books but some are worth a look and this is most certainly one of them, the main characters of Autumn and Hunter are very well depicted and you are drawn to them from their first meeting, which is the first time we meet them, the description is wonderful and I was there myself as they met. Their relationship is a gradual one and yes they do end up together it's not a we've just met let's jump into bed relationship at all, it is a believable and realistic portrayal. I loved the character of Hunter, from "his flaring gray eyes ...plump lips slowly curl up into a cheeky smile”, and while he may be a fighter the scenes are never in any depth, more the aftermath of them and the way it solidifies Autumn, whom Hunter calls Leafy and Hunter's relationship. Autumn is your typical nerd girl who grows to become more than her label, as Hunter does, the secondary characters are not forgotten, Evie,Brody and Scarlet all hold true to their characters and bring depth to the story. Overall this is a wonderfully written book that is well worth reading.

I received and ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. I loved this story. Autumn is on the bus headed to her first day at college, being the nerd and proud of it, she is a little afraid of the big world outside the bus. When she talks herself into getting off the bus, she is hit with a big gust of wind coming from a leaf blower. And her always unruly hair now has leaves stuck in it. She tries to avoid looking a the people around her but she looks directly into a beautiful pair of grey eyes and she can't look away. The grey eyes turns out to belong to Hunter Bane, bad boy, sex god and gorgeous. Autumn wants to know more about him and her best friend Evie doesn't like him and wants her to stay away from him. He seems to be pulled to her and the sparks fly when the touch. He has secrets and if Autumn learns them, will she run from him? Can he protect her from what he is doing? This story is a great way to spent your time, a nerdy girl and a bad boy with a few twists that you will not be expecting. I love Clarissa's writing style and looking forward to her next story

College days were never like this when I went to school!! OK, no laughing, the Stone Age did NOT have colleges! I am from a more current era.

First day at school, nerdy girl Autumn, yes that is her name, happens to run into the sexiest freshman around… Hunter. She has never had a boyfriend. Let’s face it, her experience with sex pivots on a kiss a boy gave her once in third grade. She has never been that close to a boy before… and never a man like Hunter.

They are absolute opposites. Their attraction starts as a physical pull that evolves into a friendship that grows deeper as Autumn’s loyalty wins over Hunter’s heart.

The complications and excitement evolve around all the secrets that surround Hunter. Autumn wants to protect him, but he keeps to himself the secrets explaining why he acts the way he does.

Drugs, death, revenge, and an almost rape are a few of the obstacles in this roller coaster ride. Hunter’s life in is danger if he continues on this path. Autumn is risking hers by trying to find out what is going on in Hunter’s life.

This is an exciting and emotional story of two young adults trying to survive and make the right decisions as they stand in the brink of adulthood.
