This was an excellent book from start to finish. Using what he called his iceberg theory of prose, Hemingway makes you feel like you were there in the cafes, on the streets of Madrid during those turbulent years, not just reading about them in a book. Every word of the text seems to be expertly placed. No author could ever convey such real vivid images as Hemingway before or since. This book is an excellent example of his vivd imagery done with few expertly chosen wordsWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
