    A good overview of air combat since ww1

    Mike Spick is quickly becoming one of the most prolific authors of air combat books around. With most of his books, he gives you the relevant stuff without getting too technical and bogging the reader down with details that slow up the action. In this book, he recounts many of the key aspects of air combat since its inception in World War 1 over the trenches of Europe, from the planes to the pilots to the tactics and how they change with the advancement of technology. Lots of pictures and photographs, printed on glossy paper, a good primer for people who want to be entertained and need the basics of gunfights and missile combat but don't plan on pursuing an education in air power beyond a basic understanding of the nightly news reports. A very entertaining read that will appeal to anyone who's gone to an airshow and been 'wow'd' by the fighters of all eras.
