Burdened by emotional baggage from his time in the Marine Corps, Declan refuses to believe he’s the right man for sweet Ella.  Even if she makes him long for normal things, like marriage and family….But in his attempts to close off his heart from her love, could he have underestimated Ella’s powers of persuasion?

Sydney has done it again. I have loved the world of Danver's since Weekends Required and this book did not disappoint. I highly recommend reading all the other books first but its not necessary for you to.. This book is about Ella, a good girl a girl who was sheltered her whole life and finally moved away from her overly protective religious mother who never let her date and get out of her shell, and then Declan, the guy who has seen things no one should ever see, he's a retired marine, and feels like he's not worthy of happiness. I love this story, it shows you that even when you have been through hell its possible to see the light at the tunnel, well at least for Declan. Declan and Ella are complete opposites but they find a way to come together, and when tragedy strikes the couple does it help them be together or fall apart? Ella is an amazing woman who has the capacity to love and forgive and she makes me strive to be like that, even after someone hurts her beyond repair she is still trying to help protect said person. I highly recommend this book and suggest you read it as well.

This may be my favorite in the Danvers Series. I love Declan Stone! I am looking forward to the next one. Enjoy!

This was a sweet read, perhaps a little too stereotypical and cliche, but still enjoyable. I like this series just because of that, they have that type of easy-going romance. Some of the dialogs were also very funny, making the read more pleasant. Not too many dramas and a lot of romance and passion. I also enjoyed how all the previous characters are still part of the new books. They have become very rich secondary characters and strengthen the story. Because of this, I would recommend starting the series from the beginning. You get much more out of the book.

Oh my goodness, this was hilarious and sexy combined. I wasn't sure the story of Ella and Declan was going to be as good as the others, but it most definitely was. I hope Ms. Landon writes the story about Emma and Brant, which will be another funny, sexy one!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Waited to find out about the mysterious Declan and boy how sexy he turned out to be! I usually don't comment too much about that storyline. Lol So nice to see characters just continue in each book. I can't wait for the next ones. Each book is on my nook and I know will read each one again. Very entertaining!!!!

You've got to read this book I won Fighting For You in a contest it is book four in the Danvers series. I was so excited when i got it i couldn't put it down. although i haven't read the other books in this series yet. i have to say im extremely impressed i thought i might get lost not having read the other books but i wasn't it could have been a stand alone book. in my opinion at first i wasn't sure id be able to  get the chemistry of the characters their friendships and relationships but i could and it was easy to follow. I feel i know each  characters their personalitys and all. This is an amazing book i really couldn't put it down. Ella and Declan the two main  characters in this series of books. they work for the same company and have known each other for a while. Ella has a huge crush on Declan but is a virgin and very inexperienced when it come to men due to her upbringing. Declan is really into Ella but he feels hes damaged in some way and unworthy of her due to his time in the army he got post  traumatic stress syndrome he dosent really like the whole relationship idea he dosent wish to hurt her with the thought of not giving her what she want in a relationship Will Ella get her guy? will Declan get over his apprehension for relationships? well if you want to know that then you really have to read this book i give it 5 gold stars a definite I is a  must read its defiantly a great book and i cant wait for the next one.

I've been waiting for this book for a while and it did not disappoint. I loved the story of Ellie and Declan! Ellie may seem shy and innocent, but she is not what she seems. Declan is suffering PTSD and never wanted to fall in love, but he can't resist Ellie and even though he doesn't want a long term relationship, he falls in love with her. This story is funny, sad and very sexy!! Stacey Landon, this is another great book and I can't wait for the next two!!!

I struggled to finish this book. I blame it completely on the author’s vague and inconsistent references to the lead male character’s military service. First, there are five military services (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines & Coast Guard – yes, the Coast Guard is considered a military service) – not once (so far) has the author stated what service the male lead served in. Second, she states in one passage that he has a “Semper Fi” tattoo (leading the reader to believe he served in the Marines) but later he refers to himself as a soldier. Um, no. No self respecting Marine will ever refer to him/herself as a soldier; that is reserved almost exclusively for the Army (Air Force – Airman; Navy – Sailor; Coast Guard – Coasty). Third, a tour of duty usually denotes a deployment or period of time in a combat/war zone and is usually not used to reference a period of enlistment in the military. Also, how long did he serve in the military? She keeps talking about two tours in the military but doesn't actually say how long he spent in the military. A term of enlistment can range from 2 to 6 years, with an average of 4 years, depending on the service. Finally, no one is stationed in Afghanistan or Iraq (aka “hell hole”); they are deployed there. The longest deployment I am aware of is/was 18 months and that was the height of Operation Iraqi Freedom and those units were delayed going home by 3 to 4 months because of the “surge” in 2005/2006. He would be stationed at a base in the US or overseas (Europe or Asia) and then deploy to those locations for a period of time and then return to his home unit. The inconsistencies are distracting and are preventing me from getting involved with the characters and story line. If you have ANY military experience, keep this in mind. I really wish the author had consulted with someone in the military before she decided to go with that story arc. If you’re wondering why this bothers me so much I am active duty Air Force with more than 20 years of service, 2 deployments to Iraq (one for 12 months, one for 8 months) and two deployments to Afghanistan (one for 8 months, one for 6 months).

Fighting For you by Sydney Landon: Very good book.  Ella Webber was smitten with Declan  Stone. They became friends and finding reasons to see each other around the office. But Ella wanted more. Hope you will enjoy this book as much as I did.

I LOVE the Danvers series and Fighting For You is by far my favorite!! Declan is intense and intriguing. But when he's with Ella, he's gentle and kind. They are dynamic and passionate. I laughed and cried throughout this entire book. It's also the steamiest Danvers novel so far! I loved it and can't wait to get the next one!
