Fighting Out of Mobberley, Englandby Gb Hope
A Zombie novel (sort of). An eccentric billionaire invites 12 people to be handsomely paid if they agree to be sealed into a shopping mall for 6 months. This is initially to test their resourcefulness and ability to survive, but he actually has much greater, and perhaps sinister, plans for them.

booksbysteph says "Entertaining Read but Lacking" Let me just get this out of the way. I know nothing of England. I do not know the cities. I do not know the laws. I do not know the "spoken" language in England compared to America. I would recommend getting an eBook version so you can easily look up definitions of words. I do not know the "written" language in England because, to me, there was a lot of "S"s where there should have been "Z"s. A map of the layout of the mall stores would have been nice. The only store I have ever heard of McDonald's. With that said, the beginning of this story was confusing. The gathering of specific people. It was not made clear that there were four different people out in four specific parts of the world, each looking for three specific people who would agree to the experiment. Even with the specifics that were required, the people were too easily found and too agreeable without further explanation. Know one asked what the experiment actually was. They just knew the parameters and the pocket money. What is the legal age for consensual sex in England? A 20-year-old with a 16-year-old? Illegal where I come from and a little disgusting. The entire book, except the last 50 or so pages, was character development. I learned more about some characters than others but got enough information to understand why each took the side they took when the group split. The climax came on suddenly, did not last long, and left me with a lot of questions and unsatisfied. Now do not get me wrong, the last chapters rocked! Many surprises. But it needed to be longer. More details. More action. More explanation. More answers. The plot, the story, is good! But there was no depth where it needed to be. I am looking forward to book #2. Maybe I will get some answers... Until next time, live life one day at a time!
