Overview

Colombian singer/songwriter Juan Esteban Aristizabal wanted to go on his own with a contemporary Latin pop album, teaming up with producer Gustavo Santaolalla, known for his valuable contributions to Latin rock numbers, to make that possible. Fíjate Bien comprised 12 songs, all of them composed by this South American performer, from the mid-tempo "Nada," and Latin Grammy-winning "Fíjate Bien" to the Colombian coastal folk-flavored "Podemos Hacernos Daño," a seductive ballad called "Vulnerable," and Latin hip-hop-oriented "Me Da Igual," allowing Juanes to achieve an award for Best New Latin Artist in 2001.

This is what you call a real artist because he actually writes he's songs. The lyrics are originals ones that touch him in the inside. He does not just get on stage to sing a song, he's telling a story that comes from the heart. I give him 5 stars because he is true to himself and he knows he's an artist not a flake!!!!

I think in my mind i think he's a great Artist. His words have meaning unlike some others, but he puts his soul into his lyrics and i think that's what creates A Best Artist.

it is no wonder this guy was nominated for 7 grammys. This cd is one of the most energetic fun cd's ive heard. My favorite track is fijate bien and the mixes of spanish rock, tropical sounds, and colombian rhythms add a nice unique taste to the music.

This is definitely the best song I've heard so far. I don't listen to a lot of music but when I heard the song (NADA) I had to buy the CD. It really put some meaning into what I'm going through right now. I highly recommend this CD.

What can I say? all the songs in the album are great, for me ''Nada'' and ''Ficción'' are the best songs. The lyrics really make you think about life, and how are you as a person.

This is a great album by a great artist. All three of Juanes's CDs are outstanding and varied (definitely not one of those albums where every song sounds alike). I gave it 4 stars because I like his other two albums, Mi Sangre and Un Dia Normal a little better. Fijate Bien is a bit darker than the other two, but also probably deeper and the lyrics more subtle. The songs tend to get stuck in my head (which may or may not be a good thing) and after I listen to the CD while getting ready in the morning I find myself singing them for the rest of the day. While one or two of the songs fall a little below par (i.e. Me da igual), most of the songs on the album are great and I would definitely recommend it.
