    Good Characters, Good Writing

I read this trilogy but have the disadvantage of knowing the TB racing scene... Therefore I can attest to the accuracy of the facts and the lifestyle depicted. However, I was able to anticipate virtually all of what was happening which probably took away the suspense (?).. But, I did enjoy the book... My only complaint was that the characters from book 1 did not carry over through the 3 books... Each book was clearly a stand alone volume.. That said I would recommend them to anyone who has an interest in learning about life on the "backstretch" of a racetrack... The love story was very good too. Enjoy!
