This book is a masterpiece.  In very few other works by any other writer will you find such a synthesis of the historical roots and modern-day experience we find ourselves in.  That place did not arise by historical accident, but rather is an outgrowth from the roots of some very dark trees.  With humor, irony, and deep historical research, this book is a MUST READ.
