But her plans are derailed by the gorgeous new owner of that big old Victorian she's always wanted to renovate...

For retired tennis pro Keith Morgan, Harmony is a far cry from fast-paced Miami-which is exactly the point. Keith is starting a new life for himself and his daughter Maddie, and he's left the bright lights and hot women far behind. Bertie's exactly the kind of curvaceous temptation he doesn't need, and Keith refuses to let their sizzling attraction distract him from his goals. Keith and Bertie both have to learn that there's more than one kind of escape, and it takes more than wallpaper to turn a house into a home.

Publishers Weekly
05/19/2014
Summers’s debut romance displays a full set of 1950s stereotypes despite an ostensibly present-day setting. The plot is a familiar take on familiar themes: rich, commitment-averse tennis star Keith Morgan moves to small-town in North Carolina for the sake of his daughter, Maddie, and experiences an unwilling surge of lust for the local “Betty Boop,” interior designer (“decorator implied a bored housewife”) Bertie Anderson, who’s selected by Keith’s elderly aunt to “make a comfortable, beautiful home for Maddie.” Divergent goals, miscommunication, and lack of common interests notwithstanding, Keith and Bertie are overwhelmed by libido. The basic requirements of an amusing beach read are fulfilled, but a pervasive sense of having entered a time warp may leave readers wondering whether they’ve picked up a science fiction novel instead. Agent: Nicole Resciniti, Seymour Agency. (July)

AH! What a fun read! I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Romance isn't my first pick for books, but I needed a great summer read, and Find My Way Home gave me just what I needed!

Being from a small town in NC, I could easily relate to Bertie and her struggles to want something more, even if you're not sure what that might be!

Michele is a very talented author, and I can't wait until February for her next book. I'm definitely recommending this to all my friends and family!

    Sizzling Romance

People are not always as they seem as the main characters in author Michele Summers’s latest release, FIND MY WAY HOME, discover. In this first installment in the author’s Harmony Homecomings series, interior designer Bertie Anderson loves her hometown of Harmony, NC, but can’t wait to move to Atlanta and start her dream job for a major design company. Finishing her last job in Harmony, Bertie learns the old Victorian house she loves has been bought. When Bertie is given the challenge of renovating the old Victorian in three months to receive a huge fee plus bonus, she can’t resist. The bonus will not only keep her out financially, but she can also help one of her only beloved charities. Retired tennis pro Keith Morgan has moved to Harmony to save his relationship with his daughter. Leaving the bright lights, fast living and hot women in Miami was the right thing to do. Keith’s had enough drama from his late wife. When Bertie and Keith are thrown together due to the renovation project, sparks and tempers begin to fly. Despite their strong attraction to each other, the pair is determined to go their separate ways. But their family and the residents of Harmony have something to say about that. FIND MY WAY HOME is a hilarious, feel-good story that will tug on your heart strings, while leaving in you stitches from laughing. The author has created warm and likable characters. The small-town setting pulls you in for a family atmosphere. The story moves at a quick pace and has a number of twists along the way. The romance sizzles as the story unfolds. Harmony has a lot to offer and this delightful read is just the beginning. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Ooh I loved this story! Sweet, busy, volunteers for everything, can’t say no Bertie was dead set on leaving her little town to further her interior design career. Until she met Keith that is. Yummy former tennis star Keith. He sounds divine, other than being a total moron when it comes to what he really wants. Ok, maybe not total moron, but he really should have opened his eyes a teensy bit instead of going the safe route to begin with. Silly man. He did redeem himself when he mentioned his cowboy boots and hat though.

Thank you Michelle and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review such a great story!! Just hit pre-order on Amazon for the paperback!

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Find My Way Home by Michele Summers is her first book in her new Harmony Homecomings series. Michele Summers has written a wonderfully delightful romance that takes place in a small town, Harmony, North Carolina. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
We meet our heroine Bertie Anderson immediately, as she is busy rushing to finish decorating a house. Bertie is an interior designer, and within three weeks, she plans to leave Harmony to for a dream job at a big designing firm. Bertie’s dream is to make it big, and wants out of Harmony. The town though loves Bertie, as she is Miss do it all, since she helps everyone with whatever needs to be done. They don’t want Bertie to leave Harmony, as she is the glue that holds them together. But they accept that she will leave to fulfill her dreams.

Then she finds out that the mansion she has always wanted to design and decorate has been bought. When she meets the owner, Keith Morgan, a famous retired pro tennis player, Bertie is immediately attracted to this gorgeous hunk. Her “Aunt Franny” to her surprise is Keith’s real aunt, and the two of them are thrown together by the Aunt’s ultimatum. Keith must find a wife in three months or lose custody of his daughter to his Aunt. Bertie is given a huge payoff to stay for 3 more months and finish the house. The plot thickens, as everyone is pushing them together, except Keith and Bertie, who want nothing to do with each other.

Yes, Bertie becomes more and more lustful for Keith, but she wants her dreams and is determined not to fall for this known womanizer. Keith is also hot for Bertie and thinks of her as “Betty Boop”. Bertie is smart, bubbly, independent, outgoing, outspoken, everyone’s friend, and at times clumsy; especially when roller skating at the restaurant she owns with her brother, Cal, on roller derby night. Even Maddie, Keith’s young daughter wants Bertie to be her mom.

But Keith will not allow himself to fall for someone who reminds him of his dead wife, which is all in his mind, as Bertie is nothing like her. Keith wants a quiet stay at home woman, who will cook, clean, take care of Maddie, and do whatever he says, and that is not Bertie by a longshot. What follows is a fun story of two people who are sexually attracted to each other, and do everything they can to avoid one another, despite the need to work together. The sexual chemistry between them is sizzling. I loved Bertie, as she was fun to watch, dealing with her family and friends in this quaint town. There was so much humor throughout, that made this a enjoyable read. I really liked Keith, but his stubbornness and refusal to recognize that Bertie was the perfect woman for him, annoyed me and I wanted to smack him a lot.

Michele Summers has written a fun and delightful story, and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. If you want a fun small town story, and romance with obstacles, you need to read this book. It will be worth it
