3.20.12 I am a fan of Carla Speed McNeil and this book only confirms her wonderous storytelling and drawing powers! Definitely a darker and deeper look into Jaeger's world, I found myself slowing down to savor her b/w drawings. The forth wall does not really exist as I was pulled into and became a part of the stories, a much more natural way of sharing. Dream Sequence - How do you deal with too much "living" in your head and the damage you do to other through it, let alone to your self (kind of cyberpunk but lots more depth); Mystery Date - a lighter touch about growing up and finding/being true to your self; Rescuers - a rather intriguing take on the "kidnapped child" theme with Jaeger fighting for justice and running up against the caste society of his world. A society that is so rigid, a child's killer might never be punished because people prefer their rigid rules places instead. Five Crazy Women - Jaeger does a wonderful trip about how he deals with women, no excuses just a journey through some relationships and how he tries to deal with them. Plus sequences that show us some of Jaeger's physical make-up that are very disturbing, but don't give it all away. Really excited for Library vol. 3! Damn, Carla is GOOD.
