Overview

"She killed a part of me - the part which trusts when someone tells you they love you, and allows you to trust that person with your heart."

Ness and Evan return to Leeds from Europe, and begin their new life together. But the past Evan has buried for years resurfaces and threatens their future.

After fifteen years, Evan doesn't want any contact with the woman who abandoned him, but is unwillingly pulled into his mother's life by Lucy.

Feeling pushed aside by Ness's focus on her studies and new friends, Evan can't confide in Ness about what's happening. This return to his old behavior adds more distance to their relationship. When Ness's new friend Ollie picks up the pieces because Evan is away, Evan's insecurities threaten their relationship further.

Ness becomes aware of Evan's situation, and she questions whether he will ever be able to break his ties to those dragging him down. If he can't put himself first, and live the life he wants, she is unable to see how their relationship could work. In return, Evan struggles with Ness's inability to get close to people, and her distance pushes him further away.

The decision about the future of the relationship is taken out of their hands - by something that could end things between Ness and Evan forever...

I had been waiting for this book release (very impatiently) sinc

I had been waiting for this book release (very impatiently) since reading Because Of Lucy. I loved BOL and was hoping the intense storyline and huge amount of chemistry would continue into Finding Evan. I wasn't disappointed. The only disappointing factor was having to stop reading it to do other stuff.
It's always tricky reading a second book in any genre other than paranormal, for me. It's hard to know if the intensity and content is still going to be enough to fill another book with the same characters. or whether it's going to fizzle out and spoil the memory of the first book. This was not something I needed to worry about with Finding Evan. The book leads straight off from the start of the new school year when Evan and Ness are back from traveling around Europe together. Ness is now also enrolled at Uni to do medicine and straight away I can see where some problems may lie in wait for the two of them. It has quite a fast paced speed to it right from the start and I didn't find myself page skimming or getting distracted at all.
There is a couple of new characters introduced in this book which spices up the storyline and causes a few problems for Ness and Evan. One of the new characters (Ollie) is fantastic and I would of loved to know more of his story, lots of secrets and brooding sexiness. Unfortunately it wasn't his story so I'll have to just wonder about him wistfully.
Of course after reading Because Of Lucy, a key factor of the first book is Lucy herself and a big question is whether she will be another onslaught of problems in this book, answer to that question is yes, she returns with a fresh set of problems for poor Evan and Ness.
I constantly spent my time backing either Ness or Evan. One minute in his corner then swinging to hers. They both act ridiculously then I feel sorry for them. It's like a soap opera. It's quite sad their story has come to an end, it would be interesting to see where they are in 10 years time.
Great twists and turns, and a huge shocker I absolutely didn't see coming and absolutely didn't start welling up at. Much. The emotion is defiantly present throughout this book, I seem to find myself frustrated and sad at the slightest thing.
I still love how these books are based in England, it makes a refreshing break from all the stories I read in the gorgeous sunshine of America and English slang is always understood a lot better. :)
A fantastic read, I always feel satisfied to know I waited for a book and it lived up to my expectations.
