Finding Flannery: A Travel Memoir Exploring the Mystique of Southern Gothic Writer Flannery O'Connor and the Legacy She Has Left Us All
Follow the journey of three generations of women from the North on a road trip to Milledgeville, Georgia, and be transported into a literary pilgrimage to the Deep South—to the land of peaches and magnolias, where one of America's most celebrated fiction writers, Flannery O'Connor, lived and wrote. Here, where the world is best taken in from a front porch rocking chair, meet the woman of Andalusia, whose stories of grace, sin and redemption–with their grotesque violence, misfit characters and spiritual epiphanies–have left as many readers shocked as in stitches. Uncover the mystique of Flannery within this vivid travelogue taken during the 50th year after her death from lupus, and peer into the culture, landscape and places that educated and shaped Flannery's imagination and fed her soul.

About the Author

Christina Brajkovich is a Wisconsin-born writer and graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville. After visiting the South, she transplanted to the Pacific Northwest to pursue her dreams, most recently making a pivotal return to the Midwest. This is her coming-of-age story, inspired by Flannery.

Karen Anne Mahoney, mother of five and grandmother to 15, writes from her native Wisconsin, where she has contributed as an award-winning journalist to Catholic and secular publications for more than 30 years. Like Flannery, Karen suffers from autoimmune diseases and appreciates how Flannery bore these sufferings with grace.

Roxane B. Salonen, Fargo, North Dakota, has been crafting stories as a journalist and author for decades, including the award-winning What Would Monica Do? Whether through podcast interviews or newspaper articles, Roxane finds Flannery’s love for the truth and Catholic convictions inspiring as she seeks to report on the truth today.
