Hesperia Loves Books Review: Royal Romance with an unique twist!

Hesperia Loves Books Review: Royal Romance with an unique twist! 3.5 Stars....

After several delayed release dates, the highly anticipated book, Finding My Prince Charming by J. S. Cooper is finally live.  Readers were snapping this book up the moment the release went live.
I was one of those readers.  J. S. Cooper has become one of my favorite go to authors.  I am always recommending her books to friends and fellow readers.  Her books are well written, entertaining, with characters that are easy to connect with.  The plot and story lines are well thought out and delivered to perfection.  The writing always has a smooth flow and before the reader realizes it, they are at the end of the book in record time.
Finding My Prince Charming is not a stand alone book.  It ends with a cliffhanger.  The sequel, Taming My Prince, will be released at the end of July.  Finding My Prince Charming is somewhat short, with only 108 pages.
My overall reaction to Finding My Prince Charming was quite different from previous J. S. Cooper books.  There were many things I liked in this book and there were just as many things I did not like about this book.  This seems to be the same reaction with many J. S. Cooper fans.
Finding My Prince Charming is a story about a common young woman accidentally meeting a European Prince.  At the chance meeting she is unaware of his royalty.  She is also unaware that he is her Professor.  They have a one night stand that turns ugly once the sun comes up.  The humiliation continues when they discover the connections go beyond the one night fling.
Once they realize they are student and professor they try to stifle their attraction to one another.  They work very hard at portraying the proper student/ teacher relationship.
Their attraction cannot be denied.  When the opportunity arises on a business trip they give into the attraction and all hell breaks loose.  The paparazzi catches wind of their relationship and exposes their affair to the world.  This could be very destructive to the reputation of the European prince.  It forces them into a fake engagement ( for one week only) so that he can show face to his family and his country.
Exposure to this relationship is not an accident.  The Prince has manipulated this young woman and the press.  He has an agenda.  This agenda will give him the uncomplicated affair he wants and redemption with his people.  It will get the royal family off his back about carrying on the family lineage.
It is a Royal romance reader’s love.  We all love the Cinderella fairytale.  We all want the prince to fall hopelessly in love.  We all want the happily ever after.
Finding My Prince Charming ended on a cliffhanger.  There is a hard road ahead for this couple before they can find their happily ever after.
There were so many things I liked and disliked about the story….• I liked the overall theme of the story.• While I found the prince, Xavier, very sexy, he was not charming. I  felt like he was a complete ARSE.  He was arrogant, self absorbed, cold, and harsh.  He treated Lola very badly, even in the intimate moments.  I honestly felt he had no respect for her even though throughout the story he was captivated by her openness, her honesty, her innocence, and her intellect.• Lola was another contradictory character.  She was a naïve, young college student.  She wasn’t completely innocent . But she was not overly experienced and worldly. She had a good sense of self worth.  She had drive and ambition.  She was smart.  She had quick wit. She was not always a pushover. She stood up to Xavier when he demeaned her after a one night stand.  She reacted to him with a snarky attitude.  Hoorah for her! At times her contempt was truly felt by the readers.  At other times she was a complete pushover.  She allowed Xavier to continuously demean her.  She overlooked his arrogance even though she clearly hated it.  She went against her natural instincts and let herself be verbally insulted.  I had a hard time accepting this.• Anna, Lola’s best friend, was an idiot.  She came across as a self serving bimbo.  She really didn’t display any qualities that were truly likable.  She acted like an immature teenager rather than a young woman attending college.  She did not have the BFF qualities that Lola needed.  She really wasn’t supportive, overly concerned, or seemingly Lola’s sidekick.  She didn’t add a lot to the story.• I loved Sebastian, Xavier’s younger brother.  He was friendly, fun, and had an intriguing personality.  I would like to find out more about him.• The relationship between Xavier and Lola gave me mixed reactions.  At times I liked their banter but it seemed to fall short.  The build up of sexual tension and chemistry seemed rushed.  At times it seemed to be missing in crucial scenes.• The pacing of this story seemed a bit off.  I found myself going back to previous scenes and pages to clarify what I was reading.• The overall story was good.  I definitely want to find out what happens next.
I would recommend Finding My Prince Charming by J. S. Cooper.  It is a modern twist of our favorite fairytale.  I am sure J. S. Cooper has some surprises up her sleeve with the next book, Taming My Prince.

This by far is my favorite JS Cooper book to date!!! Lola is in London studying abroad...amazing opportunity for a young girl. A chance meeting  with a handsome stranger has her knocked off her axis.  Things go from a chance  meeting...to a hot encounter...to finding out the man you slept with turns out to be your professor. Oh my gosh.... Xavier is very domineering...a prince in his own country...but he will not settle down. The tension in this series and the way Lola and Xavier go back and forth with each other had me antsy!!! An opportunity to put off his family about him settling down arrives and he will use it to work Lola out of his system...or will he.  This is book one of a two part swries...I'm ready for part two...now!!! A series you won't wanna miss!!!!

    Horrible book

First it is only 108 pages. Second the writing is extremely basic. If not for the mature content I would think it was for children. Thirdly Lola is not a woman who anyone could look up to nor is she very believeable. I made the mistake of not reading a sample first and only made it a few pages into the second chapter. Before you waste your money on this read the sample.

This was truly a disappointment especially after reading all the positive ratings for this book. Going into the first few chapters, I was already disgusted and turned off. Not only was the author's descriptions and repartee between the two main characters such a let down, but the whole story itself came off as if a teenager in middle school had written it. The conversation between the two main characters didn't sound like it realistic at all and half the time, I found myself disgusted by Xavier's perverse lines. I mean, there's such a thing as being romantically suave and downright amoral. I would not recommend this to anyone and trust me...I really did want to like this book. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want.

    Lola and "her Prince Charming"

"I had thought that he looked like a sex god, but this man-this Xavier- was a sex god." - Lola

Lola Franklin is on the trip of her lifetime, in london, when she bumps into Xavier Van Romerius. At first Xavier is a "pompous ass", who turns out to be Lolas professor and secretly in love with her (and turns out to be a prince). He can go from romantic to jerk in 2.5 seconds. I love the dynamic between the two. He pushes her away because he doesn't want love and thinks if he sleeps with her then he will get her out of his system. As their story unfolds Lola finds herself Xavier's fiance for a week and back in his home country. Can't wait for Taming My Prince Charming (FMPC 2)!!!

J.S. Cooper has done it again, another top 100 hit in Amazon, within the first twenty four hours. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I can't imagine being so young in a foreign country and falling head over hills for a man that can't admit his feelings. One of the things that I love about J.S. Cooper 's books is that they can make you laugh, cry and scream, because you truly feel like you are a character in the book. I will read anything this author writes, please keep up the great work. I highly recommend that you give this author a chance. I was given an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Way to go JS Cooper!! You have written another amazing book, I can't wait for more Xavier!!

I have a love/hate relationship with Xavier and Lola. I love how Xavier is when he's making love to Lola but hate how he talks to her otherwise, Lola just takes takes the way he treats her and lets it slide when he comes on to her. Overall though I loved the book and can't wait for more!!

Loved this book!! After waiting for this release I was very happy to read it! Even though this book ened on a cliffhanger( already knew it would) I was not disappointed. Xavier and Lola have a very intense love/hate relationship that you never know if Lola wants to slap or kiss Xavier. Xavier is a completed a** at times that I often wondered why Lola put up with him!! This book takes us through both main characters POV's and so you know what each is thinking. I loved Sebastian, but couldn't stand Anna she was such an immature witch, that I don't know how she was suppose to be Lola's BFF. I can't wait for the conclusion of this story.

I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for ages and it was all worth it. The story is like reading a modern fairytale, I was hooked from the very fist page, I can’t put it down because I want to know what will happen next and I didn’t notice that I’m already on the last page, the story is fast paced but in a good way, it is very direct to the point just like the hero’s character who is moody, blunt and prank. What I really like about the story is the writing style, J.S Cooper was able to deliver perfectly the emotions that she wants readers to feel while reading this, just like Lola I’m very frustrated with Xavier, I want to slap him and kick him to the curve for all the accusations and his evil plans and just like her I’m confuse of what I feel for Xavier one day he is very sweet then the next his very possessive. It’s not a perfect star for me because it was too short but there’s no major cliffhangers, I can’t wait for the next book

LOVED IT!! Finding My Prince Charming hooked me from the very beginning. Romantic locale. Playboy prince. Whirlwind romance. Unexpected surprises.

When Lola goes to London to study abroad, she wants to be a different person compared to who she was in the States, to be more carefree and to enjoy herself. She meets sexy, mysterious Xavier and decides a one-night stand with a hot European stranger would be the perfect way to start her trip. After all, she won’t be seeing him again after this. She certainly didn’t expect him to be her new professor. Or the Prince of Romerius.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lola is a college girl trying to have the time of her life during her study abroad. I loved how smart and independent she was. However, there were moments when I found myself yelling at her through my Kindle. Xavier is so rude and nasty to her, yet every time he kisses her, she'd turn into mush. She's definitely lead by her heart (and not her head). Yes, I know he's SEXY as hell and when he's thoughtful, he can be very charming and sweet. But that doesn't make up for all the times he's referred to her as a prostitute, a whore, a gold-digger, or a thief. One minute she hates him, then in the next minute she's ready to jump into bed with him. I just wanted to shake some sense into her. How can she let him treat her like that? I have a LOVE-HATE relationship with Xavier. Being a prince, he is used to getting what he wants when he wanted it. He's also used to women wanting him only for his money, title, or fame. So he doesn't do relationships, a weekend fun and no strings attached. So when he meets Lola, a girl who doesn't know who he really is and talks back to him every chance she gets, he is intrigued by her. I loved how possessive and protective he was of her - two important characteristics in a book boyfriend. :) The chemistry between them is INTENSE and the sex is HOT!

The dual POV's explained a lot of Xavier's actions and helped me to understand him better. I appreciated JS Cooper's attention to details. The setting in London, the art paintings...makes me want to go to Europe and see all the art galleries and museums.

HOT ALPHA MALE + FEISTY HEROINE = EXCITING, ROMANTIC JOURNEY. I'm anxiously waiting for Taming My Prince Charming. I hope Xavier redeems himself. I can't wait to see what's going to happen!

Favorite quote: “I want to possess your body. I want to own you. I want every inch of you to want every inch of me.”

I'm torn on my review.  I have been looking forward to this book and I couldn't wait to read it.  Lola and Anna have a unique dynamic between them.  Lola is by far the better friend, Anna was very selfish and at times rude.  The book went very fast.  We also have the brothers who are princes as well.  It is very easy to like Sebastian, but he didn't do anything to make himself likable.  Xavier has a great potential and I think we will see a different side to him in the next book.  Can't wait to read book 2!

Loved this book!!! I need more ASAP. Lola and a friend go to London for 6 months thru a college program. She meets Xavier at an art museum and has a one night stand. This is so not like her. She's the good girl type that decides to let loose for one night. To bad Xavier is an a**. He's a dash of swoon and heaping amount of douche. Plus, Xavier holds a position that makes a relationship a no no. Also Xavier is a player. He's set in his ways, or so he thinks. Lola is someone he never expected. She's strong, smart and could care less that's he's a prince. I really can't wait for the next book. Taming Prince Charming. Thank you JS Cooper for writing yet again another amazing book.

    Great Book!

I have to say I love this author'sbooks! Everytime I read one,I can picture myself there with the characters! Lola and her friend are American college students studying in England. While in a Museum,Lola meets Xavier. No,it's not love at first site, mote like lust at first site. Little does Lola know that their first meeting will set the stage for what comes next!!

Wow! Lola is in England studying art abroad.  GAH! That would be so amazing!!!!! She decides that she is there she is going to be a more outgoing Lola, a Lola who experiences things and doesn’t let life pass her by.  What she didn’t account for was Xavier.
Xavier Von Romerius has his own ways in how the world should go and that is he gets any lady he wants and for only one or two nights.  No need to prolong it right? Wouldn’t want them to get attached.
One night leaves them fighting how intense the lust for each other are and when they are unable to deny it any longer and finally let their bodies have what they want it causes Xavier to push her away the only way he knows how. Lola resolves to it being the most awkward one night stands and vows that it will not screw up her time in England (Granted she may… not jump into the sheets quite as quick as before)  But  nothing is that easy in the matters of the heart and when Xavier finds out that she will be his student he can’t help the unwanted happiness that he has. When she finds out… well she may still be a bit upset with everything else.
You would think finding out that your crazy amazingly not conventional one night stand was your teacher would be the most poor Lola had to endure right??? Nope… He is also the Prince of Romerius and well he is used to getting anything and everything that he wants.
Xavier decides that maybe a little bit longer with Lola wouldn’t hurt too much and will help get her out of his system but when things get a bit carried away will it be enough? Finding My Prince Charming was amazing and you cannot deny the way these two feel for each other even if they are in complete denial.  I CANNOT wait for the finally in Taming My Prince Charming!
