Meet the Author

I try to write the type of books I love to read -- with action, humor and usually a touch of romance.

Most of my writing is done on the deck of a whitewashed beach house furnished with a jungle of plants, a well trained parrot and several blue-tailed skinks. The skinks are welcome guests as they scurry about keeping the insect population in check.

When not dipping my toes into the water, watching the waves or tripping over shells on the beach, I'm sailing into the sunset with my mysterious man on his 40' teak wood sailboat.
But not for long, as it doesn't have wireless! I'm a bit addicted to the Internet...

Of course, very little of the above is true -- what did you expect from a writer of fiction?
My life is not that interesting, but my characters have enough adventures to keep things lively.

Seriously, I hope you enjoy reading "The Essence" -- I'm working on a sequel. Please let me know what you think of my books and if you like them, please consider writing a review. Reviews are one of the main ways independent authors can get their books noticed and are very much appreciated.
If you have any other comments or questions about the books, please send them to me at my gmail address, NDESMAC, with "book comment" in the subject line or post on the Facebook page listed below.

    Realistic

I gave this four stars because I'm really hoping it's the first chapter of a novel. The story line is realistic and the characters relatable and likable so I found myself disappointed when it ended so abruptly. But no matter how short, the writing and the plot were excellent. Thanks for sharing a freebie Thanksgiving story.

This is a well written short story - 38 pages. It reveals family relationships and how proud parents can cause problems with the children. And money doesn't solve everything.

    Short Holiday Story

A very quaint and simple read. I did enjoy this story line. I believe what goes around comes right back around and will bite you every time!!!

    Not really worth the time.

I liked the main character, but the whole story seemed pointless. I suppose it was ok for 35 pages. At least it was free. Sorry, Ms. MacCreery.
