Overview

From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author who brought you the Nice Girl to Love trilogy, comes A Nice GUY to Love spin-off...

Brian Sullivan has been in love twice in his lifetime. He lost his first love to early-onset Huntington's, and he lost the other more recently...to his brother. And somehow, his heart has managed to heal itself after both. Amazingly, without therapy. That doesn't mean Brian hasn't gotten more wary along the way, however. In fact, he's been thinking lately that maybe his brother's now retired nothing-but-flings rule isn't such a bad idea. Unfortunately, being the nice guy poster boy and all, he isn't exactly versed in the fine art of flings. So he looks to the outrageously 'unique,' provokingly button-pushing Tessa Daniels for a crash course.

There's absolutely no way he's falling in love with this one...right?

Tessa has no idea what she was thinking telling Brian that she was some sort of fling expert. She's never been flung before and she sure as heck doesn't know where or how to begin flinging a guy like Brian. It was a temporary lapse in sanity, really--no doubt because of the can't-help-but-fall-for-him brain fuzz that hits her whenever he's around. Not only does the man have her being more herself than she's ever been in her life, but he's the only person she knows who seems to have as many demons and skeletons in the closet as she does. What's more, he's got her thinking of the one thing she stopped letting herself even hope for years ago.

A happily ever after.

Meet the Author

New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Violet Duke is a former professor of English Education who is ecstatic to now be on the other side of the page writing wickedly fun contemporary romance novels. When she's not arguing with her story characters or feeding her book-a-day reading addiction, she enjoys tackling reno projects with her power tools while trying pretty much anything without reading the directions first and cooking 'special edition' dishes that laugh in the face of recipes. Violet lives in Hawai'i with her two cute kids and similarly adorable husband.

Oh my freaking goodness!  I didn't think I could love Brian more

Oh my freaking goodness!  I didn't think I could love Brian more after reading him in the Nice Girl to Love series, but man do I ever.  He is perfect, everything you could want in a hero.  He is sexy, sweet, sincere, loving, take charge, fierce, protective...everything!  Then there is Tessa!  What a beautiful soul.  Always wanting to help others and put them before herself.  And their chemistry together was heartwarming, fire at times and sweet at others.  I loved this story so much.  The way the first series ended with the two of them meeting, you could tell their story would be special.  It just totally touched my heart.  Tears of joy, sadness, and fear all in one story.  What an amazing story of never giving up!  Wow!

Fantastic book by a fabulous author!

It is now 7:30am and I have just finished this book. Starting yesterday afternoon with the first book of the Nice Girl to Love series and continuing through the night and early morning with book 2 & 3. There are no more to read! ARRRGGG!!!! I guess I'll just have to go to bed and dream of these characters.

This series is a must for readers who love to get caught up in the characters, plot, romance, hot sexy scenes and great writing.

Violet has done it again. I thought these stories couldn't have gotten any better but I was wrong. I loved Brian and was rooting for him in the first series but an SOOOO glad he didn't get the girl in that one because this book is Great. the chemistry between him and Tessa is electric. My only bad thing would be that it wasn't long enough. Please tell me there are more stories like this to come and I cant wait

I fell in love with Violets Dukes writing in the nice girl to love series. Abby and Conners story was amazing. However, Brian and Tessa's story is so much better. As usual the characters are very well developed and complex. For such a short read the story line is very well developed. I love that Skylar has grown through out all four books. I hope we get to see more of her in the future.

One word: WOW!   Violet Duke does not disappoint!  I absolutely love the Nice Girl Series, but this book pulled my heart strings in ways very few authors have ever been able to.   Great storyline, unexpected plot twists, 100% lovable characters...this book is EVERYTHING I wanted and MORE.  I love to see growth in an authors work as they publish more books, and Violet Duke has ABSOLUTELY grown as a writer.  I cannot wait for her next book release!  Fabulous book...you are missing out on something special if you don't read it.

Brian is a warrior and Tessa is his spicy demigoddess..

Does true love only come once in a lifetime?  How can you do everything right and still end up with a death sentence?  Do you run and hide or do you love life to the fullest?

Brian Sullivan has done everything right.  He was the rock his wife Beth needed when she was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease (HD).  He stood by her even when she did not remember who he was.  He is now the sole caregiver for his daughter Skylar and she is showing signs of having the horrible disease his wife fought for years.  He really believed that Abby was the one for him, but she chose his brother Connor in the end.  They are still really good friends, but it is not the same.  He is so lost and lonely..

Tessa has done everything right.  She took care of her sister and father when their HD was at its worst.  She worked several jobs to keep them afloat and pay for their medical bills.  Her mother walked out on them and left Tessa to pick up the pieces.  She loved her family with all her heart and would not have given up her time with them for the world.  She has never allowed anyone to get close to her for fear of losing them someday.

What happens when Brian and Tessa cross paths?  Will each of them find the one person that can complete them?  Could they have another chance at true love?  Nobody else understands what it is like loosing someone to HD like they do.  Or will this terrible disease drive a wedge between them and keep them from ever loving anyone again?

Violet does an excellent job teaching the reader about this terrible disease and the toll that it takes on the person that has HD as well as how it affects their friends and family.  She shows us in this story that no matter how much time you might think you have on this earth, that you should live and love to the fullest.  This book had me sobbing at one point and laughing at Tessa and her quirkiness that drove Brian mad.  Brian is such a caring, kind soul and to top it off is smokin hot.  He is an alpha male warrior when it comes to Tessa.  I think his character might be have been inspired by MVD if I had to guess.

This book is about taking chances on love and living life to the fullest even in it's darkest hours.  If you like a hero and heroine that are willing to fight for each other and can beat the odds then you will love this wonderful love story.

    **ARC**

Tessa has been going through life in a blur. Trying to make it till the day that her body lets her know it is time.
Tessa has been volunteering her time at a local facility for people who suffer from Huntington's.
The very same disease that took her sister and Father and made her mother leave, the very same disease that will some day take her life as well.
She doesn't have time in her life for love, because she doesn't want someone to suffer the way she did and her mother did,
when they watch their loved one dying and there is nothing you can do about it.

Well that was until Brian came into her life.

Brian has lost his wife to Huntington's and never thought he would be able to open his heart again, until he heard her laugh at his brothers wedding.
He has not been able to stop thinking about her. He sees her at the facility that his wife was at before she passed away.
He sees her fall all of a sudden while she is up jogging on the mountain side. He rushes up the side of the mountain and saves her.
It is then that he knows he needs to get closer to her. The problem?
She is keeping a secret and doesn't want to get too close to him, only having to leave him eventually.

This story is full of emotion as these two people try to learn to love one another after losing people who have meant the world to them.
Tessa wants to love Brian, but doesn't want him to have to watch someone else he loves being taken away by a horrible disease.
She is trying to save his heart, not realizing that she is breaking more by not being there.
This story teaches us, that if you love someone, no matter what the future will bring,
you have to open your heart and let love in, that no one deserves to be without the one they love.

Another winner from Violet Duke! FINDING THE RIGHT GIRL continu

Another winner from Violet Duke! FINDING THE RIGHT GIRL continues with the great characters of Brian Sullivan, his daughter Skylar, his brother Conner, and his best friend Abby. In this book we get to know Tessa Daniels better. She is the quirky magazine editor and caterer who helps Connor with fundraisers and writing grant proposals to fund Huntington's disease causes. Like the Sullivan's fighting this disease is close to her heart because she has lost her father and her older sister to HD.

Tessa comes across as a fun and carefree, living for the moment kind of girl, who refuses to fit inside the box, but she has an edge and is extremely independent. This comes from needing to take the responsibility of caring for her loved ones at a very young age and then being left all on her own. Her story is heartbreaking and you can't help but love her. Likewise, the last bachelor Sullivan brother can't help falling in love with her either! She brings out a protective alpha side of him and he is quickly smitten.

While this book has a wonderful and touching love story between the two main characters, it also takes a more serious turn at the life a person with Huntington's disease suffers. Brian's daughter Skylar's fears, anxiety and sacrifice of her ability to focus on what other girls her age are focused on is front and center in this book without overwhelming it or bringing it down. Instead we get a fine example of true unconditional love and family support. Expect to shed a tear or two. But let's not forget this is a Violet Duke book so we are treated to lighthearted fun as well, in the form of great banter, humorous times, and steamy sexy times. I found this book to be a bit more serious than the previous three, but well-rounded and definitely well-written.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book.  It brought out a lot of emotions, I laughed and cried. Without giving away too much of the story...you can really feel the emotions that the characters feel dealing with a devastating disease but it also gives you hope for that "Happily Ever After" love.

In Finding The Right Girl by Violet Duke, Brain is about to give

In Finding The Right Girl by Violet Duke, Brain is about to give up on being in love again.  Having time limited flings with women seemed to work for his brother Connor before he and Abby fell for each other - so why wouldn't Brian give it a try?

When Brian meets up again with Tess, who he met at his brother's wedding, there is definitnely a chemistry between them.  The attraction is mutual...but neither is looking for a relationship.  When they decide to have a fling, making it all about sex, they are going to find it impossible to keep it at that.  Brian and Tess really enjoy being together...they have a lot of fun, and they just get each other.  Both of them have pasts that have hurt them...are they ready to move on and see what the future holds?  Tess has a secret too...will she hold tight to it or can she trust her heart and Brian's to open up to him?  Or will the past and secrets ruin the hope of a future together?

Finding the Right Girl by Violet Duke is not just about a romance between Brian and Tess.  Violet writes eloquently about complex emotions, relationships, and the harsh reality of genetic diseases.  She brings in the secondary characters, mainly Skylar, Brian's daughter, Connor and Abby, weaving them into the plot just so but not letting them or their issues take over.  They are an important part of Finding the Right Girl, adding strength to the story and the characteristics of everyone in it.

Brian and Tess are both great people I would love to spend time with!  Tess is independent and strong, but she holds so much inside.  I really felt for her...she has always been the care taker, no one has ever taken care of Tess.  I loved that Brian could do this for her.  Brian and Tess have both had experiences that many people haven't that have shaped who they are today and how they deal with what life hands them.  They are two people in some ways so different, but in other ways so similar.

I really liked these characters of Violets because they were straight forward, regular adults.  They didn't play games...they just were.  They are two people that could be anyone you see on the street.  I loved that Finding the Right Girl gave us so much more than the romance between Tess and Brian, it's about dealing with what life throws your way too.

Once again, Violet has wowed me!  I loved all of the Nice Girl to Love books, and this book was the perfect spin off!  I was so happy Abby ended up with Connor, and this book reinforces that because I really think Brian and Tess belong together if they can make it work!

Finding the Right Girl can be read as a stand alone book easily in my opinion, but I highly recommend all of the Nice Girl to Love Books!

I highly recommend Finding the Right Girl to any romance reader who likes a story with a lot of depth and great characters!

Brian Sullivan, his daughter Skylar, and Tessa Daniels are in for quite an emotional ride.  NO SPOILERS!  Just know that this Nice Girl to Love series, which also flows in to the Cactus Creek series, is a must read for anyone who loves the emotional contemporary romance books with ultra sexy alpha men.  Fantastic story written by an equally fantastic author.  This is a book I could read over and over.
