Finding Time for Fathering

Finding Time for Fathering

by Mitch Golant Ph.D., Susan K. Golant

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
This late in the 20th century we ought to be enlightened enough to realize that fathers are as responsible for and as capable of caring for their children as are mothers. Experience suggests that this is not quite the case; thus the need for the Golants' book. They summarize all the arguments and the research indicating that a father needs to be involved with his children both for his sake and for theirs. They take readers through the successive stages of child development, telling them what to expect and how to relate to a child appropriately at each stage. Despite the title, this book is definitely not for fathers only. It is also for the mother who, unwittingly or otherwise, undermines her husband's efforts at childcare even though seeming to want his involvement. Well organized, easily read, highly recommended.-- John Moryl, Yeshiva Univ. Lib., New York
