    There is a new Magic!

The original publication was gret and there is a revised edition out as of December 31, 2005. I have been lucky enough to get a copy. FINDING TRUE MAGIC, by Jack Elias, is just that: MAGIC! Jack has put together a wonderful book that I suggest for any Hypnotist who is interested in greater success for themselves or their clients. I teach Hypnosis and Advanced Hypnotic Techniques throughout the U.S. and in Europe and this is one of the books that I can all-ways recommend. Jack's approach is drawn from a combination of Eastern and Western philosophies and reminds us that by remaining flexible in our communication, we succeed. While the scripts offered are excellent, I do not look at them as 'Scripts' per se, rather, as examples of effective communication. True Magic can also be used by the individual interested in exploring their own potential and discovering new perspectives toward effective living. I highly recommend this powerful book to any and all interested in expanding their skills of communication. Daniel F. An Extraordinary Learning Experience

No other author (that I have read or studied) in this field brings such passion and consciousness to the 'how to' of hypnotherapy as Jack Elias. When I first started with this book of technique I was pushed back a little by his 'process' and then shortly realized that he was literally attempting to move me to an altered state while writing of his purposes and concepts. I could feel the compression of wisdom and mind wrenching and concept blowing sentences that brought whole realms of my own belief systems to the fore to be examined in an instant. Often, I would have to read and reread whole paragraphs and then put the book down and breathe deeply as mini realizations of the Truth of Elias's monologue seeped in. I found my self celebrating 'eurekas' often. One of the best things about the Elias¿s tapes is getting to know him and feel the great sense of humor and then getting inspired to go back to read the book again. Elias teaches that 'exploring attaining . . .wholeness and inner peace' is an integral part of his manual for practitioners because he believes that success with clients is directly related to the depth and experience of the therapist's own contemplation and conscious inner life. So the process of the practitioner becoming more 'awake', if you will, is easily woven into the teaching and training process of this book. Detailed scripts are integrated into the discussions of various areas. Elias breaks the training in the book into phases. First is a basic introduction to hypnosis and the nature of the egoic mind. Second is an illumination of Regression/Past Life Therapy with discussion on accessing the Higher Self or True Self, coverage of the Vedic traditions of India and its view of Shakti and the power of illusion in an interplay of the psyche that Elias calls 'egoic minding' and the awakening from egoic trance. He also includes a model of the psyche that correlates the Neuro-Linguistic Programming model of the Psyche with the Five Skandhas of Buddhism. The book continues with a great piece on subpersonalities and trance work and an effective (though brief) work on 'Shame and the Addictive Personality'. Elias gives a whole section to archetypes, which can play a very helpful role for the hypnotherapist seeking to do a thorough assessment of the client and develop a very 'whole' case plan. This section has extensive scripts and commentary on accessing archetypes and utilizing them for the hypnotherapeutic processes. Finally, the book deals with shadow work, entity attachment and releasing, couples and group hypnosis, and developing a practice.

    Finding True Magic: Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP

¿The depth of Finding True Magic grows on one, and can be used constantly as a reference for the therapist - so clear, so vivid, and effective. I am on the path to get my Ph.D. certification for Transpersonal Hypnotherapy and am basing my thesis on your work. It is vast and immense/insightful and speaks to me now more than ever on how to really have mastery with clients.¿ S.M.

    Finding True Magic: Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP

Jack Elias is a born teacher with a natural approach to class teaching. He is as much at home with Socratic dialogue and analysis as with a Zen paradoxical and intuitive approach. An intriguing and novel synthesis of Eastern and Western perspectives and techniques, this is a very practical approach to clinical hypnotherapy by an expert in the field. Jack is contributing to the further establishment of hypnotherapy as a total approach to healing rather than simple as a technique which may be applied in the context of psychotherapy.
