My mom bought me this book in 2001 and I've just recently started getting into applying my makeup the correct way. I was browsing about to purchase a book by Scott Barnes then remembered I have a book and it's just for girls like me! So tomorrow I will be dusting off my book and reading it with new eyes and knowledge because now I will possibly be able to use and connect with the book properly. My mom definitely knew what she was doing when she gave me this book. She saw my future, she knew my loves and talents. Rest in peace mom! And thanks for my book

Using the tips from this book, I always get compliments on my looks. I have developed my own look finally, which I credit Sam Fine for. All I have to say is that 'I have never looked this good!'

Thank you Sam Fine this is a Black Women¿s Bible to makeup application! I love that Sam gives you step by step on how to apply your makeup. Also, it was nice to see normal people, but all of the models/actresses are wonderful as well. Please purchase anything that has Sam Fine¿s name on it! You will not be disappointed!!!!

My name is Zersha Dorsey of Detroit, MI. I am an up and coming Make-up Artist. When a close friend of mine, Kirstina Madden,of Detroit, MI shared with me one of her most prized possessions, a picture of her with Mr. Fine himself in New York, and the book 'Fine Beauty' by Sam Fine, I got even more excited and thought to myself, 'I hope to meet this Master of Faces someday.' It would just be an honor to get a glimpse of Sam flexing the mascara, lining the lips and showing off the eyeshadows! I want to watch him work it so I can learn it! His work is phenomenal. I can hardly wait for the opportunity to shake his hand and to have a privilege for him to grace my face. SAM - Your work is extraordinary!I thank God for you and your representation of Make-up enhancement especially for the Black American woman. What a wonderful gift to have. Love you and God Bless YOU!

This is an excellent book for everyone especially those that are just getting into makeup. There are several makeover pages which is what attracted me to this book. Sam did a good job at explaining his techniques, but I felt that he put too much emphasis on his experiences with celebrities. Since this is a makeup book, I felt he could have limited the number of black & white photos. But overall, he is definetly a magician when it comes to makeup, especially the makeover he did on Rupaul. Oh my!! The man has skills.

THANK YOU SAM I LUV U

I love this book and use it as a reference! The tips on lightening and shaping the brows, on how to make eyes larger, and the proper use of foundations and concealers....It's a great book. I only wish he had a line of make up. Also I liked the step by step photos. The photos were amazing and the instructions were easy to follow. Great book.

Sam's book is an inspiration to all women of color. I purchased Sam's book back in 1998 at a book signing at Atlanta's 'Shrine of the Black Madonna' and have been a faithful fan of his since I first saw him on the Bertice Berry show some years ago. I also had a chance to see him demonstrate some of his techniques from the book on a model at Nordstrom's dept store in Atlanta a couple of years ago. Since using his techniques I have had plenty of compliments about my makeup and my dream is to have him do my makeup for my wedding. Please keep up the good work and we are still waiting for the website and the makeup line:)

I have been a fan of Sam Fine's since I first began to notice that he was almost unfailingly the person responsible for the beautiful black faces we see on magazine covers and ads. This book was a revelation! Not only does it give excellent tips on how to apply makeup, it goes a step further into the lives and personalities of his top clients, and shows us how truly special Sam Fine is. This book is a must-have for any black woman seeking to put her best face forward!
