    Better than the Best

'Fine Dining Madness' is the king of good, intelligent reading. I don't remember when I've enjoyed a book more, but then again I like to drink. But really, if there's a better restauranat book out there, I haven't seen it.

    Very Fine

Until another author does better, 'Fine Dining Madness' is the best diner/restaurant book out there. More than anything else, this book has energy and originality.

The Singular Best Book in about Restaurants, Period.

This book is like Christmas morning. You wake and expect find just one gift under the tree, instead finding dozens. The flaw of FINE DINING MADNESS is the title leads one to believe it is just about restaurants. So untrue. This is a book about humanity, often the lack of it, and one man's quest to find honor and purpose in his life. The cherry on the cake is that the author, John Galloway, donates every cent of his book royalties to help recently wounded war veterans, and to honor those who have died. I think he has found the honor he was looking for by his selflesness. Read this book. You'll love it.

    No Soup For You!

Great book from start to finish! The 'Rules and Realities of Fine Dining' is a very appropriate subtitle. As far as the rules go, after reading this book, you may wonder why more waiters don't treat their customers like Seinfeld's 'Soup Nazi'. As far as the realities, I had to double-dip and re-read some of the shocking revelations that go on behind the scenes.

Laugh out loud funny -- and I learned something

About everything you need to know about what goes on behind the scenes in an upscale restaurant is mentioned in this book. Funny and provocative, this book is outstanding both in its laugh-out-loud humor, as well as its educational value.

    Not afraid........

This guy is not afraid to say it. I think a lot of authors of tell-all-books don't tell all. John Galloway does. His writing is witty, sarcastic and completely funny. I enjoyed this book. I recommend it.

    A must read!!!

Fine Dining Madness was truly an enriching and informative piece of work. I found this book to be not only hilarious but a truly genuine depiction of the fine dining atmosphere. This is a great gift for anyone and everyone, as well as a gift for our victims of Katrina. This generous author has been known to give large portions of his books revenue to help those trying to piece together their lives after the devastating hurricane

86 Tuna.......Going to Veal.......... Same Suit

Reading this book is the only prerequisite for anyone even remotely considering employment in the restaurant industry. Whether it be a full-blown career junkie or a part-time busser looking for beer money, make sure you read this wicked accurate bible of dining room etiquette. And as for you diners out there who have never worked in a restaurant, read this book twice.

    Hilarious and True Insight

John Galloway's, Fine Dining Madness is an entertaining and well written read. In witty and humorous fashion, Galloway gives some funny and real insight into the back workings of an industry that is a part of everyone's lives. Anyone who has worked in the restaurant industry will catch themselves laughing as they reminisce about similar events and emotions they've encountered. I believe this book would be just as entertaining, if not more, for those who haven't gotten first hand experience of what really goes on behind the scenes.

    Brilliant, Funny, and Insightful!

Whether you are customer, a dishwasher, a cook, a busser, a hostess, a bartender, a waiter, a restaurant manager or a restaurant owner, there is something (if not many things) in Galloway's book that you can relate to with a smile. John Galloway so eloquently combines his wit and humor with unforgetable personal and historical accounts of life in the business of fine dining. Not only did I have the most fun learning about what to do (and what NOT to do) in the course of fine dining, but Galloway managed to educate me on several historical accounts (most notably his war stories, aviation tid-bits, celebrity encounters and mob accounts) of which I never would have known if I had not read his book. Galloway clearly took a lot of time and effort into writing this book, and I truly feel this was some of the most fun I've ever had reading a book. Galloway is truly among the 'cream of the crop' of fine dining experts. Kudos Mr. Galloway! I can't wait for Whiskey Tango!

Undeniably Funny!! Best Book I've Read In A Long Time.

Every so often a book comes along that just pulls you in and entertains you from beginning to end. Well that time has come with this true life, hilarious account of the inner workings of the restaurant business. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever left the comfort of their own home and ventured out to dine at a restaurant. This book includes the do's and dont's of fine dining as well as tells of true stories about the 'characters' of the restaurant business. I call on all of you to venture behind the scenes of some of the finest restaurants in the US and let Galloway be your guide to some of the most unbelievable stories ever told about what really happens at your favorite dining establishments. This book is captavating, and is an excellent read. It is laugh out loud funny, while also delving into some serious issues. It is the must read of the year.

    Awesome! A must!

Read this if you have ever eaten outside of your own home. If you haven't, read this and you will want to just to be able to stare at the collection of crazies Galloway conjures up in his book. There are laughs and insight on every page, along with the sympathy for people you get from a waiter on a busy Sat. night.

    Love it.

If you're looking for a great read, this is it. It's full of insight, irony, grit, grime, waste, greed, despair and delicious humor. It's a terrific tell-all that will make you nod your head in recognition and laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of the game that is dining out.

This is a brilliant work of nonfiction. FINE DINING MADNESS has something for everyone, and is full of original thought, outstanding good humour, and insightful observations on human behavior.
