I read this book 23 years ago and I loved it then and I love it now. It is one of those amazing stories that transcends the generations. I highly recommend this book and Ashes and Ecstasy!

I read this book when I was 13 and every time I read it I love it even more! Anyone that loves historical romance books will truly love this book! The story and characters are both interesting anf inspirational. I think that the characters of Reed and Kathleen are the most loving and funny couple that I have ever read about. I promise that once you start reading this book you won't want to stop. Catherine Hart has written an amazing story wrapped in an exceptional backdrop of piracy, intrigue and soft southern nights. Please try this book!! I have read it over 100 times and I enjoy it more each time I re-read it!!

I first read this book almost 20 years ago when I found it in my Mom's book collection... I am now 33, and I think I have read this book AT LEAST 20+ times. The first copy has a rubber band around it and the pages are yellowed with age. Needless to say, I bought another copy!! I liked Ashes & Ecstasy but, Fire and Ice is the one I fell in love with. Kathleen and Reed are hands down the BEST romance novel couple EVER!! I love reading this and getting lost in it. For as many times as I have read it, it never gets boring. In fact, I am in the middle of it right now. I have read almost 250+ historical romance novels and have yet to find it's equal. If you are ever going to read a romance novel, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!!

I read this book when I was a freshman in high school. I must have read it at least 10 times. It's just one of those books you fall in love with. THE DRAMA NEVER STOPS!!!!!! It's been 10 years since I've read it and I can still imagine Kathleen and Reed aboard their ship.

I loved this book!!! If you would like to read a book that will take you someplace else, then read this book!!!! Then, when you have finished 'Fire and Ice' read 'Ashes and Ecstasy'. You will fall in love with the handsome and dashing Capitan Taylor just as Kathleen did. There was nothing about this book that I didn't like.
