Fire Balls [NOOK Book]

Highly Recommended

Sweet, fun, light read. I read it in a night and frequently found that I was sitting there with a stupid sh*t-eating grin on my face. I was worried the flamboyant Rod with his "darling"s and "OMG"s would be hard to relate to, but I teared up when he finally let his emotions out with David. Who hasn't been in that horrible helpless position of unrequited love? And I loved that things were thoroughly wrapped up at the end where a lot of similar books would have ended a couple chapters earlier.

What a delight to read my first Tara Lain novel: Fire Balls. It was just right for a rainy day when I needed cheering up. And Tara’s writing voice does just that – it sings as clear as a bell with hardly a word to spare, leaving the reader (me) breathless as the plot romps along at an amazing pace. She says she loves beautiful boys (on a page) so she must be passionate about her main characters, Rodney and Hunter, because I am.
Rodney is in danger of being the all-too clichéd “fey” gay character with his painted hair and hands on hips attitude. But under Tara’s supervision he becomes a fully-rounded, loveable character whose heart is larger than he is. So, says one of the story’s underlying messages, don’t judge anyone until you know him/her better.
This short novel, which has an unpredictable ending, introduces such diverse subjects as karate, painting, the life of a fire-fighter - all in interesting and well-researched detail, and each weave perfectly into a passionate, funny and highly entertaining tale populated by characters that I’ll never forget. All I need to do now is get into another Tara Lain as soon as possible.

Sweet and Hot at the same time

i usually don't read much m/m romance but when i read the blurb for Fireballs i was intrigued. at the 1st page i could not put it down, i sympathized with all of the main characters and wanted to smack them at the same time. LOL! they all had their individual insecurities and that kept them apart for much of the book but they heat between them two heroes wouldn't allow them to stay apart either. when they finally came together as a couple it was very touching and poignant and just the right amount of sweet without being sappy or distacting from the masculinity of either of the heroes. Thank you Tara for writing such a wonderful story. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

You can't go wrong with Tara Lain books! The stories draw you in and take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as her men deal with their beliefs and the consequences of finding the men of their dreams!

Would definitely recommend her books for your enjoyment, you will not regret the experience!
