Meet the Author

I started my writing career as a self-published author and was lucky enough to hit both the Amazon and the Barnes and Noble bestseller’s lists with my two series, the Jolie Wilkins series and the Dulcie O’Neil series. After hitting both lists, I thought life couldn’t really get much better so you can imagine my surprise when Random House (Bantam imprint) signed me to write three books in the Jolie Wilkins series (Witchful Thinking, The Witch is Back and Something Witchy This Way Comes). Now I love the fact that I’m both a traditionally published author as well as a self-published one (with my Dulcie O’Neil series). And even more cool news? The books in both series are currently being made into audio books! Stay tuned for more information…When people ask me what I’m like, it’s sort of hard to answer but here goes… I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention. My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. Uncovering new places and learning about different cultures is pretty incredible. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to live abroad in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

    Long and has no ending

This is an unfinished book and just a come on to buy the next book. If you love romance than this might be for you but, was great disappointment to me. Thin obvoiius plot and no climax or ending. Do not waste your time.

    Great read!

I found this series to be very witty and enjoyable. I found myself laughing outloud one minute, cringing the next, and sighing with fustration (BUT IN A GOOD WAY...if that makes sense.) Each book left you wanting more. My only complaint was each novel kept getting shorter and shorter...thus turning what should have been a trilogy into 5 books (obviously to make more $$, but since they weren't too expensive it wasn't that bad.)

It took me awhile to get through this book. The beginning was a slow start but then it picked up. I was able to get a good sense of the characters due to a great description of them. The paranormal aspect of each character was fun as each possessed a very different gift. The story had some dull moments for me personally. I would read the second book to find out what happens next but I prefer a quick moving story.

    A surprise

I must admit I wasn't sure if I'd like this book. However, having read the first couple of pages I was instantly hooked. I look forward to reading more in this series.

    Fast-Paced, Sensual Paranormal Romance

The second in Stuart's shifter series is quick and entertaining. Max and Lauren are interesting characters with great chemistry. The narrative flows a bit oddly in places (characters like Wade and Naomi are introduced later than they should have been, and the background about Max' mother should have been told sooner), but the story is otherwise highly enjoyable.

Recommended to fans of Gail Carriger, Devon Monk, and Zoe Archer. -- lyradora

    It started it all

I love romance - historical types, Scottish type books. This one I was a little concerned about because there is a witch on the cover. I got pulled into the entire series. Couldn't put them down. Fell in love with all the characters. H. P. Mallory thank you for Jolie Wilkins!

Fun book want to try the next

I like the author's light-hearted take on her magical community. Enough romance to keep the story interesting and a battle between mythical creatures to add suspense. An easy, engaging read. Definitely want to read the next book in the series
