    A great book

I read this book while in college. It was eye-opening for me, a native of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, as it gave me a different insight into the people that I grew up around and the infamous incident that became identified with my neigborhood. Deavere Smith does a great job in bringing each of the characters that she plays - and the wider story itself - to life. While highlighting some of the cultural and religious differences of the people who make up Crown Heights, in some respects this is also a social commentary on human nature itself and how we deal with conflict. I highly recommend this book.
