Publishers Weekly

In this first installment of Christy Award–winning Mills’s Deadly Pursuit trilogy, beautiful but socially awkward Taryn Young marries Francis “Shep” Shepherd after a brief courtship. Acutely aware of the national importance of her software design skills, she is hooked by Shep’s appreciation of her work. But as they board a plane for their honeymoon, a bomb explodes. Shep disappears; airport tapes show him fleeing just before the explosion. FBI agent Vince Bradshaw accuses Taryn of planting the bomb with Shep. But Bradshaw’s partner, Grayson Hall, believes Taryn’s protests of innocence. Hall and Taryn join forces to find the connection between the bombing and the security software she is developing—and to find their respective paths back to God. The murder of Taryn’s best friend Claire and the abduction of Claire’s daughter, Taryn’s godchild, raise the stakes higher. The surprising identities and motives of those villains, and the growing trust between Taryn and Grayson, will keep readers turning pages in this fast-moving, intricately plotted thriller. Taryn Young is a brilliant software developer, but after she allows her heart to fool her head, she finds herself in more trouble than she could have ever imagined. She is now the sole suspect in a major FBI case and must convince the agents in charge that she, too, is a victim. Agent Grayson Hall has been assigned to her case, and despite his professional judgment and his partner’s instincts, he wants to believe Taryn and protect her. The two forge an uneasy alliance as she seeks evidence proving her innocence. The more they learn, the more danger they put themselves in, along with those around them. Mills (Attracted to Fire, 2011) takes readers on an explosive ride. The terror is all the more chilling because it could easily be a headline story on the nightly news, and Mills’ characters spring to life through their fears, strengths, and quirks. A story as romantic as it is exciting, Firewall will appeal to fans of Dee Henderson’s romantic suspense stories.

4 Stars. Mills once again demonstrates her spectacular writing skills in her latest action-packed work. From the opening sequence that quite literally begins with a resounding bang, the story moves at a fast pace that will keep readers riveted until the climactic end. The cast of characters, including the villains, is diverse and well fleshed-out, particularly given the widespread scope of the story. It’s great to see an intelligent heroine who’s actually able to showcase her smarts.

Taryn Young cannot believe her good fortune. Barely three months ago she met Francis Shepherd, the man of her dreams, and now she will be traveling with him to Puerto Rico on their honeymoon. Before they can board their plane, though, the Houston airport terminal is bombed. Taryn is injured, her husband is missing, and the FBI considers the couple their prime suspects in the explosion, although agent Grayson Hall believes Taryn might have been set up. VERDICT In her series launch, the Christy Award-winning Mills ("Call of Duty" series) skillfully builds a menacing overall tone, and the tension level rises as layers of lies are peeled away in multiple plot twists. This novel, which takes off at a breakneck pace with a narrative arc that could have been ripped from today's headlines, will greatly appeal to fans of James Patterson's "Alex Cross" series and readers who enjoy psychological thrillers.

CHAPTER 1

PRESENT DAY MiD-SEPTEMBER 7:00 A.M. MONDAY

Taryn's perfect day melted in the heat of an early morning bottleneck. Houston traffic was a war zone during rush hour. Six lanes of bumper-to-bumper vehicles slowed to a crawl with a road construction crew flashing warning lights ahead. Six lanes narrowed to five, then four, then three, then two.

Shep touched her arm, his gold-brown eyes expressing tenderness. "Babe, the driver will get us to the airport in plenty of time."

"I hate traffic." She pulled her iPad from her purse, a habit when she needed to keep her mind occupied.

"Taryn, our honeymoon starts today." He smiled. "Do your new husband a favor and put away your gadgets. Didn't the VP tell you to forget about work and concentrate on your husband?"

"He did, and you have all my attention."

"Better yet, let me have all your toys, and I'll keep them safe. The one thing I plan to do for the rest of my life is take care of you."

Oh, this wonderful man. And he was all hers. "You're right. My life's no longer a solo project. I've been single for so long—"

"And a workaholic. Don't worry. I have room right here in my backpack." He chuckled, the rich sound reminding her of a thundering waterfall. "I'll keep them for you, Mrs. Shepherd. But I doubt you'll have time to use them."

She blushed, remembering last night. How could she argue with such devotion? "Can I at least keep my phone?"

"I suppose." He brushed a kiss across her lips. "I love the blush in your cheeks."

Would she always grow warm with his touch? "Comes with the hair."

"A gorgeous match." He twirled a tendril of her hair around his fingers and let it fall against her neck, causing a shiver from far too many sources.

Taryn knew what he was thinking, but she couldn't respond with the limo driver listening to every word. She handed Shep her iPad, hoping he understood that until she met him, her first love had been designing software. Now, with bittersweet regret, she watched him tuck her technological lifeline into his leather backpack.

"We'll be at the airport in twenty minutes." He took her hand into his. "Then we're off to our San Juan paradise. We might never come back. Live in Puerto Rico forever."

She snuggled close to him. For the first time in years, she wouldn't miss work—no software development projects or unrealistic deadlines. And to think she'd spend the rest of her life with this delicious man. Had it only been three months since they'd met and fallen in love? From the moment he walked into her life, he'd become her prince. They'd been inseparable, just the two of them, realizing they were meant for a lifetime. She'd dreamed of a man like Shep since she was a little girl, a man who wouldn't care that she kept her nose in books. His entrance into her heart was like a golden path to a fairy-tale future.

After checking in at the airport, she stared at her boarding pass and wished it held her married name: Mrs. Francis Shepherd. Their next trip would show them as husband and wife.

Security moved like the traffic they'd left behind. In the crowd, everyone's personal space was invaded, and some people responded with hostility. Taryn stepped into a long, winding line, and Shep wrapped an arm around her waist. Oh, she loved her new life. He blew her a kiss while loading his shoes and personal belongings into a bin. If cravings like these occupied her mind for the next fifty years, how would she ever get any work done again?

Once they walked through the body scanner and gathered their things, they wove through the crowd and on toward the gate. The predawn coffee caught up with her. With the urgency, she pointed to the women's restroom. "Do I have time for a quick stop?"

"Sure. My fault since I filled your cup twice to wake you. Let me have your carry-on, and I'll wait here." His smoldering look could have melted the wings off a jumbo jet.

"I'll hurry."

"No problem. The future's ours."

Rushing inside, she noted six women ahead of her, one with two children. Shep had a tendency to be impatient with time constraints, but she'd be miserable on the plane if she didn't wait her turn. Her iPhone notified her that she had fifteen minutes before boarding time.

Finally a stall opened and she hurried in. While she was drying her hands, a thunderous explosion shook the floor. A crack snaked up the wall. Then another. The mirror shattered, breaking her image into shards of glass.

She screamed and swung toward the entrance. Before she could take a step, the ceiling collapsed. Amid dirt and fallen tile, moans filled the air like a nightmare that refused to end. The walls creaked, metal and concrete shifting ... falling.

Muffled groans alerted Taryn to her impaired hearing from the blast. Trembling, she bent to check on a young woman sprawled at her feet. Blood seeped from a head wound, and Taryn couldn't detect a pulse.

Debris rained on her. Something crashed against her head, sending her spiraling into darkness.

11:15 A.M. MONDAY

No one had the right to take the lives of innocent people.

Special Agent Grayson Hall always faced the challenges of his life with dogged determination. His experience with the Joint Terrorism Task Force meant his skills were needed, and he welcomed it. The bomb that exploded at IAH in a parking garage near terminal E had killed dozens and wounded countless more. The initial response team, Houston Police Department, fire department, EMTs, and FBI searched for the dead and wounded. The evidence response team labored to make the crime scene safe for investigators, conducting a postblast investigation to determine the components of what appeared to be a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. Their findings, both electronic and physical, would lead out the investigation with the JTTF involved every step of the way. A team of FBI bomb technicians along with state and local law enforcement searched for a secondary bomb. Nothing had been found yet.

A command post had been quickly established at a hangar outside the airport on JFK Boulevard. A second post at the Houston FBI office housed the Joint Intelligence Center, and a third command post operated out of DC. Grayson worked from the FBI office, reviewing surveillance cameras. Hundreds of agents were on the case, and undoubtedly thousands would be involved before this tragedy was solved.

Those within two hundred yards of the blast were dead or would soon be. The pressure exploded their sinuses, ears, and lungs—a cruel way to die. Several victims were foreign travelers, those who believed the US was safe.

FBI agents and other Homeland Security personnel, as well as local law enforcement, were trained for disasters. But who wanted to experience it? After 9/11, every terrorist threat had the potential to be devastating, leaving too many US citizens emotional cripples. History had proven an attack on US soil could happen again.

It looked like Homeland Security had failed, and that meant Grayson had failed too.

No chatter on the wires had indicated a potential bomb threat. The FBI's Field Intelligence Group, the FIG, scrambled for missed intel. The governor was en route to Houston via helicopter, and the White House was demanding an explanation before the president spoke to the country and the world. Grayson questioned how the country's leaders would soothe the chaos in this grave situation, especially with the death toll mounting. He mentally listed US enemies who claimed responsibility, and North Koreans and Iranians danced in the streets.

Grayson scrolled through screen after screen of heavily scrutinized security footage. The scene looked like a war zone merged with a cyclone. Agents searched for clues leading to a person or persons who might be responsible for the tragedy. He examined two segments that raised questions. Both photographs showed the guy knew where the cameras were located. Why? Unless he had something to hide. Grayson zoomed in and sent the image to the FIG.

His BlackBerry rang.

"What do you have?" Supervisory Special Agent Alan Preston, the SSA of FBI Houston, had phoned him every twenty minutes since the explosion.

"I've run info through the FIG. A couple ticketed for San Juan checked in about thirty minutes before the explosion using the names Francis Shepherd and Taryn Young. Shepherd left shortly afterward. We have Young entering a restroom, and a few moments later, Shepherd heads out and leaves in the same limo he arrived in."

"Alone?"

"Apparently. The bomb exploded five minutes after his exit."

"What do we have on them?"

"Shepherd's name is fictitious. He avoided the cameras. Wore a cap. Little for facial recognition to compile. Young works for Gated Labs Technology, a software development company." His BlackBerry notified him of a message. "Just got a response from the FIG on the couple." Grayson blew out his exasperation. "Nothing on either of them. Continuing to search for Shepherd's identification, but we don't have a clear photo."

"I want him found and brought in for questioning. It's one thing for a man to change his mind about going away with a woman. It's another to dodge security cameras and escape a bombing."

"I don't believe in coincidences."

"Back to Young," the SSA said. "Gated Labs is high-tech. Some top-secret government contracts. Any connect?"

"Young's their top developer. Maybe the best in the country. Right now she's in a coma at Houston Northwest Medical Center."

"You and Vince get over there and find out what you can. At this point, it looks like Shepherd and Young are involved. Don't lose track of her until we see where she fits. That's your job."

Another great story by DiAnn Mills.  I'm glad she's got another series going.  The characters were great and I'm looking forward to more from them.  The mystery kept me going throughout the book.  I didn't figure out the mastermind behind the plot.  That always makes a book a winner for me!  The romance was a little odd to me.  I liked the characters. Their romance would have been believable, if, and a big if here, it wasn't so ill timed.  The story starts with Taryn's supposed marriage.  The whirlwind of events happen throughout the course of one week.  She is ready to admit that she's attracted to Grayson, and would be open to something in the future.  Really?  Already?  Talk about rebound.  But that brings me to the other part of the romance being odd.  Taryn says she's an introvert.  Awkwardly shy.  Insecure.  After all that is what Shep preys upon to use her in this evil plan.  Here she is injured and betrayed, yet she is not shy, insecure, nor introverted.  Even with her kidnapper she is talkative and personable.  She's charming Joe and Grayson almost immediately.  It didn't ring true to me.  Put that aside and I loved the story.  A thrill ride to keep you guessing to the very end.

Firewall is an outstanding book by Diann Mills. The book keeps you in suspense from the beginning. There are twists and turns throughout the whole book. There is also romance present. This is the first book in a series. I can not wait to read the next one due out in April.

Suspense, Romance, Conspiracy, Terrorism, and so much more will

Suspense, Romance, Conspiracy, Terrorism, and so much more will keep you reading til you are done! This book is full of life, action, and adventure beginning with page one! I was intrigued and hooked, although it could be quite intense at times and take a bit of a toll on my emotions as it rollercoastered up one hill and down the other twisting in crazy loops. As you near the end, the author has quite a few unexpected turns to throw at you, so be ready!

In this book Taryn Young is a software developer on a highly valuable program. She takes her work seriously and has noticed some suspicious activities at her company. Due to her suspicious, she disables the software until her return from her honeymoon, which never happens since the terminal she is in is bombed. Now, she is a top suspect along with her new husband who is missing. Before long, she realizes it is a tangled mess, and to save a life, she must do what she can to help untangle it. But will her efforts be enough? Who can she trust, and where can she turn?

I was impressed with the message in the book about salvation, living for God and making him a part of everyday life. Grayson is a Christian and seems to have a good relationship with God. You will often find him praying. Tayrn, thanks to her friend Claire, has head knowledge of God and goes to church on occasion, but due to some childhood issues, is not quite as in tune with God. Of course, after her life is turned upside down, she is quick to recognize the need for God's presence in every moment and decision.  There is a full cast of characters and it may take a little while to decipher who's who and what's what, but it's definitely worth it.

This is my first time reading DiAnn Mills, and I will without a doubt be seeking out books by her again in the future. I would recommend this book if you love a fast paced, page turning adventure.

It's a race against time, technology, & dangerous killers!

It's a race against time, technology, & dangerous killers!

With Firewall, DiAnn Mills draws her readers in, holding them breathlessly hostage until the very last page. She is a master at her craft and her genre. I really enjoyed this book and am anxiously awaiting book two in the series when it releases.

I got hooked on DiAnn Mills' writing with her book The Survivor, and I look forward to each new title. I was very excited to read and review Firewall and had been anxiously awaiting its release. As expected she took me on an edge-of-your-seat read that I just couldn't put down.
I kept wondering if Taryn could be involved or if she has been set up. If she's been set up then who did it and why? Would Grayson continue to help her even when it looked bad for Taryn's honesty?

There was a surprise character that I just fell in love with, he's just great! I'd love to tell you who, but.....I can't spoil the story for you, now can I? Well, let's just say that he's a real buddy when Taryn needs one the most.

I think part of what made the story so riveting is that with the increase in terrorism and violence it is something you could expect to see on the 6 o'clock news. In some ways it was a little scary thinking about an airport bombing, imagining how easily it could happen nearby, to people you know.
One of the elements I liked the most was learning about the investigative process and all of the work that goes into bringing the perpetrators of such a crime to justice. Detailed and interesting but still a novel, a story above all else.

Firewall is exciting, thrilling, and once you pick it up you won't want to set it down until you know who did what and why. Don't miss this latest book from DiAnn Mills!

DiAnn Mills in her new book, ¿Firewall¿ Book One in the FBI: Hou

DiAnn Mills in her new book, “Firewall” Book One in the FBI: Houston series published by Zondervan gives us a new adventure with Kariss Walker and Tigo Harris.

From the back cover: After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb decimates the terminal. Injured but still alive, she awakens to discover her husband is missing and they’re both considered prime suspects in the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn’t who he appears to be.

Agent Grayson Hall’s number-one priority is to catch those responsible for the day’s act of terror. All evidence is pointing to Taryn and her new husband. But his instinct tells him her pleas of innocence are genuine. Is her naiveté just for show, or could she truly be another victim of a master scheme, possibly linked to the software she recently developed for her company?

With both their lives and reputations on the line, and the media outcry for justice increasing with each passing minute, Taryn and Grayson have no choice but to trust one another . . . and pray they can uncover the truth before they become two more casualties.

A bombing act of terror at the airport, murder and a kidnapping are just some of the ingredients that Ms. Mills puts in this top notch mystery thriller. There is also the husband who seems not to be who he claims to be, Taryn, who is so clueless as to what is going on and keeps making mistakes that make her look more and more guilty and Grayson, the agent who believes her and is determined to find out the truth. “Firewall” is a thriller in that the main characters lives are put in deadly danger through the course of these investigations. I think this is Ms. Mills best work yet and her characters are well-defined. Once the action gets going Ms. Mills revs up the thriller quotient considerably which will have you reading and flipping pages as fast as you can. Don’t start this book late at night because it will be very difficult to put it down or stop thinking about it. I recommend this book highly and am greatly looking forward to the next book in the series.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Zondervan. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Firewall starts off on page one with action and continued on to the last page. I haven't read any of Diann Mills work before and I am now questioning why that is I loved the action, characters, mystery and suspense.
I think the story line is really good. Poor Taryn. I couldn't imagine what she went through in this book. Could all that really happen to someone in real life?
I look forward to reading more by this author and will adding her books to my wish list. And I can't wait to see what else happens in this series. Great book!

Firewall is another hit from DiAnn Mills! While DiAnn has written books across many genres, her romantic suspense novels are my favorites! Firewall is the first in a new series featuring Houston-based FBI detectives. I loved that the intensity began in the first few pages, so I knew I needed to strap in for a wild ride!

The primary characters were likeable and interesting. At times I felt so sorry for Taryn and wondered if it was really necessary for so many bad things to keep happening to her. However, in the end, it did make for a great story, so I suppose it’s alright. [wink!] I admired the way she fought through adversity and realized she absolutely had to trust someone besides herself! Grayson was a fantastic “hero”, and his uncle added a lot to the book. Perhaps he’ll be featured again in future books or even get one of his own?

What makes DiAnn’s books stand apart from many of the suspense novels I’ve read is the accuracy. There’s nothing cheesy in these books, and she gets policies and procedures right! I think this helped the book come alive for me—as it sometimes felt more like I was watching a movie than reading a book!

As I’ve come to expect from DiAnn, Firewall was fast-paced, filled with intriguing characters, and every single detail was thoroughly researched! [5 stars]

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my fair and honest review, which I have given.

This was a very fascinating book to read. It left you guessing as to who the mastermind was until almost the very end. The only objection I had was when it said that the Chevy Impala Grayson and Joe were using was a gas guzzler. I happen to have a Chevy Impala, and it is definitely not one. It gets better gas mileage than the smaller car I was driving before it.

This was the first book by DiAnn Mills that I have read. I enjoyed the plot, and especially the twist at the end that was completely a surprise. Although the writing is a little choppy, and some of the happenings/feelings are too unrealistic to make this a 5 star book, it piqued my interest to see what will follow in the next book in the series.

Firewall by Diann Mills was an addictive, fast paced read. I have read her historical fiction before, but this was the first suspense of hers I have read and I was not disappointed. Can you imagine just getting married to the man you love, starting out on your honeymoon, and boom a terrorist attack takes place at the airport where you are departing from? Not only that, but waking up in the hospital and realizing your husband is missing and the FBI are questioning who he really is and now you are a suspect? You were supposed to be on your way to your honeymoon! Well this is what happens to brilliant software developer Taryn Young. Mills creates such an intricate web of deceit and sabotage that, Taryn, nor the reader, knows who to trust. I really felt for Taryn and was quickly turning the pages to see how all this was going to turn out. The book took some interesting turns that I did not see coming and I really look forward to the next novel in this series. This book was better than most series on TV and I could tell that the author did her research. I highly recommend it. I received this book from The Book Club Network (TBCN) and the opinions are my own.

This was a hang-on-to-the-edge-of-your-seats kind of book. I loved it. Yes, I knew that that two main characters were going to come out alive because that is what always happens in fiction books, right, but the plot was not all what I expected and the last couple chapterswhere you knew everything was going to come together and turn out threw a few twists that I wasn't expecting. This is the first book I've read by DiAnn and I was very impressed. I thought it was well-written and a very good plot.

Incredible! DiAnn Mills¿ latest novel Firewall is hard to descr

Incredible! DiAnn Mills’ latest novel Firewall is hard to describe with my limited vocabulary, but one thing I can say is that this is not a book to pick up to read when you are ready to go to sleep – as you won’t want to put it down! Firewall is that compelling of a read, and that excellent. It is far above and beyond the books of DiAnn Mills that I have read in the past!
What a nightmare for newlywed Taryn Young! Imagine awakening in the hospital with your new husband missing / possibly dead as the result of a bombing at the airport where you are waiting to board a plane for your honeymoon. Then imagine that the FBI thinks that you are part of the terrorist group who did the bombing. Not the Monday morning I would want to have! Of the two FBI agents assigned to Taryn’s case, one had many years of experience and thought she was part of the terrorist attack at the airport terminal. After listening to her, the younger agent felt in his gut that she was an innocent victim of her new husband and of those behind the attack.
The characters are very well defined as needed by the story needs at any given time. Taryn and Special Agent Grayson Hall are both very likable, highly intelligent, and dedicated to their jobs. Taryn manages to take each crisis in stride, in spite of what she learns about her bridegroom, and seeks the Lord even when it seems that nothing is changing for the better. Grayson’s uncle, Joe Hill, is retired from the FBI but takes on a vital investigative role to help them. Joe is also very likable and intelligent, with wisdom gained from many years in his career. Special Agent Vince Bradshaw is Grayson’s partner, and has a wealth of experience on the job but a cynical outlook on life and crime in general. I just wasn’t able to find Vince a likable character, in spite of his years with the bureau.
The plot is complex and the flow of the story increases in intensity with unexpected twists and multiple suspects, each who has an integral position from where they could steal or attempt to steal software designed by Taryn that is crucial to national security. Some of the suspects seem like logical choices, others come as a complete surprise. This kept me guessing until the bad guys are all revealed, including the stunning discovery of the man behind the mission.
I highly recommend this novel to adults of any age who appreciate Christian thrillers. Firewall is at the head of its genre for a non-stop, finely-woven plot with believable protagonists with whom the readers can identify. It is one of the most captivating thrillers that I’ve read this year. It has the added bonus that the author shares the message of Christianity through her characters without being “preachy”.
I received a copy of this book through the “For Readers Only” group at The Book Club Network, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation was received for this review. Many thanks to Tyndale House, DiAnn Mills, and TBCN for this exhilarating new thriller!

Great, Clean Thriller. This is excellent. It is very well written and it was hard to put down. I so much appreciate a tense drama without the crude language and vulgarity. Technology and international motivations were clearly explained (a plus for me, a reader who wants a little more explanation). The buildup and the action grab you. The romance was low-key, and the twists toward the end were great. The recap was nicely done.

Genius software developer Taryn Young marries a man she has only known for three months, and while at the airport getting ready to depart on her honeymoon, the terminal explodes - many are killed and she wakes up in the hospital where her husband's secrets begin to come to light. FBI Agent Grayson Hall is assigned to her case (which has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster.)

The entire book takes place over the course of about a week (which had to have been a really long and awful week for our characters as they go through one catastrophe after another) - and although I was mostly engaged and as a whole enjoyed it, didn't love it. There were a couple of things that just didn't gel for me. First, she's a super genius - but totally misses how much she is being played. Although I can see how her personal life is different, her judgment is way off in a number of ways throughout the book. Second, all of the plot twists were exhausting rather than exciting for me. On the good side, it was an interesting story in a field you don't typically read about (high security software programs) and the main character's repartee/dialogue is good. Also, there is (yet another) plot twist at the end that I personally didn't see coming.

The bottom line is I have mixed emotions; you'll just have to read it and decide for yourself!

What an exciting book! This book kept my attention from the first page and throughout the whole book. This is the 1st book in the Houston Series by Diann Mills. Taryn Young is a young newlywed getting ready to board a plane with her new fiancé. While she is in the restroom, a bomb explodes injuring and killing numerous people. When Taryn comes out of the restroom, she finds her new fiancé is gone. Questions are being asked and Taryn and her new fiancé are under suspicion for setting the bomb. Agent Grayson Hall comes on the scene and he has to answer the hard question…Is Taryn really responsible for this horrendous act? This book has lots of suspense and also some romance to go along with it. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone! I received this book from bookfun for my honest opinion.

I was riveted to my seat as Diann Mills took me, the reader, through adventure after adventure. I only put this book down when it was absolutely necessary but always grabbed it up again as soon as I could. The characters were very real to life. The plot kept me guessing who the real mastermind was right up to the last few chapters. I never would have guessed! The romance was a pleasant soft sell, but woven nicely throughout the story. I loved this book and would highly recommend it to all mystery readers.

Firewall DiAnn Mills Book Summary: After a whirlwind romance

    Firewall
    DiAnn Mills

Book Summary: After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb decimates the terminal.

Review: From the moment I started the book right through the very end it was non-stop! The action and story was moving so fast that I was on pins and needles for the majority of the time. I had to put the book down just to calm my pounding heart. The twists and turns were fantastic! It was as if the bad guys always knew where she was and there were so many of them that I was just daunting at times. Taryn was a multifaceted character with lots of personality and easy to like and empathize with. She was exceedingly smart, surprising in the things she did and well written. This is the first book by DiAnn Mills that I have read and I will be looking forward to reading many more.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Tyndale House Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

I am a huge fan of DiAnn Mills’ mysteries. I have read all of them. I was thrilled when I was able to receive her latest book through the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review. I was not disappointed.
What would you do if you had been swept off your feet in a whirlwind romance, married, on your way to your honeymoon, only to have it interrupted by the bombing of the airport and you and your husband are chief suspects? This is just the beginning of this fast paced adventure. Taryn Young is a brilliant computer software developer, but why would someone want to implicate her in this horrendous crime and even attempt to kill her. Taryn soon discovers that events in her life are not what she believed them to be. Those she loves best are in harm’s way. She has to choose who she will trust and who is out to get her.
All of DiAnn Mills’ mysteries are fast paced with true to life characters with whom you will sympathize. What I like best, is that unlike some other mysteries, they are not only have a good plot, but they also have a point. My ladies book club has done several of them as there is much to discuss besides a good story. Firewall is no exception.
