Editorial Reviews
From The Critics
Reviewer: Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP(Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences)Description: This is the fourth edition of a study guide for U.S. medical students preparing for the United States Medical Licensing Examination, taken after a student's third-year clinical rotations.
Purpose: As a preparation guide, this presents a group of the mini-cases typically encountered during the second of three examination series. The cases are similar to the standardized patients and this clinical skills guide helps students formulate their strategies in approaching these cases.
Audience: Clearly, this is designed for medical students as part of their progression through the medical school curriculum.
Features: The book describes the test and what interviewing and examination skills the student must have to successfully pass this portion of the examination. Subsequent chapters describe the typical mini-cases of the standardized patient format.
Assessment: This is a valuable study aid and well worth the purchase price.
