Overview

(For Mature Audiences Only – Adult Content)
A year after losing her husband, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life to cancer, Janie Anderson embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York City. Trying to escape the oppressive loss and hopelessness of a life without him, Janie sets off on the adventure she has dreamed about since she was a little girl. Exploring the Big Apple, New York City, she secretly hopes that this landmark event will free her from her grief and unlock a future as wonderful as the life she had lost with Robert’s passing.
After a series of embarrassing encounters with a man in a dark grey suit during the flight, Janie wonders if this trip might be more than she bargained for. At 42, she is much too young to spend the rest of her days as a lonely widow, but is resolved to the fact that, like lightning, a love like that of her first marriage rarely strikes twice.
When she accepts his invitation to dinner that evening, Janie is terrified at the realization that she’s actually attracted to him. The handsome and wealthy Matt Lathem is sexy as hell, but, as Janie comes to realize, has baggage of his own. Can they help to heal each other in time to realize that a second chance at love is within their grasp?
Join Janie as she risks her heart for a chance to love again. Download your copy now!

    Doesn't have an ending

The book doesn't resolve anything about the main characters. I hate it when an author sells an incomplete story. It's unfair to the reader.

I would have given this a 4 but...

?... it isn't fair to end the book before the story ends. I'm not sure that I am willing to read any other of this author's books.

    Yes!

Well written. You are pulled into the emotions and tension between janie and matt. Though i enjoy books about characters of all ages, it was great to read a sexy, romantic novel about a woman and a man who are forty two and forty. Can't wait to start the next book that continues their discovery of each other.

    Hmmmm

Good storyline and concept but I could't get past the run on sentences so will not be purchasing the next in series. Way too many ands in one sentence. Also the word is until, not 'till. Lost some of the story due to rewording the sentences myself.

    I highly recomment.

I was widowed at the same age as Janie so I related immediately. However, the characters are engaging as is watching their relationship grow. They "run into" each other at the airport literally, and end up sitting next to each in FIRST CLASS. Janie is having her dream vacation in NY and ends up spending most of it with Matt. She is much less sophisticated then the women he usually dates and his ex wives. Both grow emotionally, however are unwilling to admit their feelings and end up separating at the end of book one. Move to book two for a satisfying finish to their story.

Book one is free, I purchased book two, and before I completed it I decided to the whole series boxed set even though it duplicated my second book.

A quick read with a cliffhanger!

This was my first AJ Harmon novel and it won't be my last. Matt and Janie are adorable and passionate. I love that they're both overcoming huge emotional roadblocks in their lives, and they need and lean on each other as part of their healing process. I wasn't expecting the cliffhanger. I'm not normally a big fan of them, but I have to know how their story ends.

    Loved it

This is a must read book. It kept me guessing the whole way. Most of the guesses I got right because it was kind of predictable. Overall their love story was great. When I read the story I felt like I was inside of it, feeling the characters feelings! Hate the cliff hanger but cant wait to read the next books!

    A First Class Book!

This is the first book I have read by Ms. Harmon and I will definitely continue to read more of her work. I laughed, cried, and was emotionally spent by the end of this book! Janie goes on a once in a lifetime trip with all the trimmings (first class plane ride, The Ritz Carlton Hotel, etc.) after her husband dies from cancer. That story in itself is one to get the tears flowing. But at the airport in Portland, she literally runs into Matt Lathem, a breathtakingly handsome man who ends up beside her on the flight. Conversation flows easily between them and sparks fly. Janie feels guilty about moving on thus causing kinks in this relationship. Also, Matt has women issues of his own from along time ago. I absolutely cannot wait to read the next in this series to find out what has happened with these two!

    Good read

I think it was a great read. It was soooo frustrating tho on some parts bcuz u r just thinkin oh no! Thats not true. I like how the author does both the two characters thoughts included not just one character. Which at least to me i liked bcuz it makes me want to finish the book. I didnt realize that it was a series book..i dont like series but this im definetely guna figure out wat happens!
