Overview

Who agrees to an arranged marriage in the 21st century? Beth Malone can’t believe a date request with the 1Night Stand service morphed into an arranged marriage offer. But after a heartbreaking divorce and no knight in shining armor coming to sweep her off her feet, her desire to find that knight and have a family is looking more like a dream than a reality.

After filling out a 1Night Stand questionnaire worthy of the CIA, Christian Ramos is stunned when Madame Eve offers to arrange more than a date for one night: she suggests a wife! What the hell? After his best friend Jackson Castillo stops laughing, he advises him to consider the offer. Between the fortieth birthday looming on the horizon and his Latino upbringing, Chris is forced to take a hard look at his life. Reality check—time is running out for what he wants—a family and a woman to share his life.

First comes love, then comes marriage isn’t part of their matrimonial situation, but neither Beth nor Christian anticipated the immediate attraction and contentment that comes with saying, “I do.”

I have been waiting for a new book from Ms Mann for what seems like years and she doesn't disappoint with this one. If you have read any of the 1 Night Stand series you know the format, but this one comes with a twist ;). Madame Eve sets up two star crossed lovers for an evening of love, romance and if they are lucky Happily Ever After. Ms Mann wrote the first book in the series and we get to see familiar characters like super hottie Jackson Castillo. But don't worry if you haven't read To Feel Again *which you should* you won't be lost this one stands on its own. I love Ms Mann's voice, and her characters are one that stay with you long after you shut your Kindle off. :)

Reviewed by Shyla Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Madam Eve is at it again with One Night Stand, but this time matrimony is on the list! Fed up with dead end dates, men who change their stripes after the rings is on, and living her life alone, Beth Malone turns to One night Stand to deliver her happily every after. Independent and assertive, with a good head on her shoulders, Beth is the friend you want to see get a man worth of such an phenomenal woman. For some reason, the men she picks always seem to be frogs in disguise. I felt her pain when she rolled down the heated highway in an old car on her way to Vegas on a leap of faith. The more Ms. Mann revealed, the more connected I felt to this character. Mann’s killer sense of humor colored the story, lightening the sometimes somber/heavy notes that gave the short depth. I held my breath right along with her when she met her fiancé, Chris for the first time. The sparks that flew between them were electric, jumping off the screen. It was the emotional aspect I perched on the edge of my seat waiting for. Chris is older ( Yumm), scarred by his past, and on his last chance at romance. Family friends with Madam Eve’s son, he places his trust in her capable hands and hopes for the best. Surrounded by a giant, frustrating, yet well meaning family, he’s begun to long for a wife and children of his own. Sexy, sensitive, but oh so masculine, Chris can only be described as delicious. Attentive to Beth, and family orientated with a silver tongue and raw sensuality, he’ll have you reaching for your phone to call the Madam in no time. The events of his past have broken him, and it shows. Which made this story so good. The struggle he and his new bride undergo bring them closer, and force them to lay on their cards on the table in order to start the bonding on a level playing field. This short had it all. Humor, depth, and sizzling sex. I highly recommend it.
