Beyond 50 Shades … Way Beyond!

FIRST EXPERIENCE is an intimate exploration of kinks and fetishes by an unlikely couple, with thoughtful and philosophical discussion by the characters, and graphic descriptions of their erotic adventures.

Sam meets Kelly, a beautiful but troubled woman half his age, leading to a ‘first experience’ exploring the surreal world their fantasies. Sam realizes that he desires more than a play partner. And Kelly knows that she needs more than a lover: Someone to whom she can expose her inner soul; someone whose values transcend the ordinary; someone who will fulfill her own dark fantasy world.

The Experiences series is an epic love story of erotic relationships and sexual desires. Written in a ‘literary realism' style, the series introduces Sam in the prequel, and the blossoming of his intimate relationship with Kelly as the series progresses. Fantasies and real-world adventures coalesce to mold a unique bond between unlikely lovers. Where needs are mutually satisfied in an open, creative and trusting environment. Where physical and mental boundaries are pushed. Where the concepts of love and sex are never confused, but sometimes confusing. Where openness is required and intimacy is expected. And where fair-is-fair, regarding the punishment of transgressions.

Contemporary erotic romance: Suitable for mature readers, aged 18+ years.
Experiences: Book 2 is 111,000 words, 17 chapters, 371 print pages

Meet the Author

An adventuress and traveler, Simone is a sensual being who loves to read stories that excite her. She takes exception to authors who promote their works as ‘dirty’, ‘filthy’, or ‘smutty’: She believes that sex is wonderful in all of its incarnations, and doesn’t shy away from graphic descriptions of realistic sexual experiences, no matter how messy. Her writing is mainly in the ‘literary realism’ style – i.e., it is wild (even outrageous) … but could really happen to you! She values openness in relationships, and demonstrates this through her characters. Prior to becoming an author, Simone was a nurse. One of her pet peeves is reading erotica that gets simple anatomy wrong! She is continually bewildered by women who haven’t explored their own bodies. Another pet peeve is the mostly hung-up Victorian society prevalent in the U.S., and she tries her hardest to change that by introducing people to new sexual and sensual experiences through her erotic writing. The activities in Simone’s books are quite realistic, as she has participated in most of these in ‘real life’, as surreal as it may seem. Simone is currently completing the Experiences series, which will run an estimated 1,000,000 words! That is why she refers to it as an ‘epic’ romance, although each volume is intended to stand on its own, with a ‘happy for now’ ending. Experiences is an attempt to combine literary style and philosophical discussion by the characters with graphic portrayal of sex in all of its kinks and fetishes. You may not like all of the things Simone’s characters do … but neither do they. Their exploration of new experiences will hopefully motivate some readers to explore their own sexuality to a greater extent. Simone loves to hear from her readers, so feel free to contact her. In fact, she hopes you will feel ‘free’ sexually and spiritually, as well. Please follow her on social media and her blog. On her website, you may interact directly with the main characters in her books, including asking them questions in order to understand their perspectives in more depth.

The introduction of a young woman to openness, trust, and new experiences of the submissive kind Simone Freier was a nurse prior to her becoming an author. One of her pet peeves is reading erotica that gets simple anatomy wrong! She is continually bewildered by women who haven't explored their own bodies. Another pet peeve is the mostly hung-up Victorian society prevalent in the U.S., and she tries her hardest to change that by introducing people to new sexual and sensual experiences through her erotic writing. The activities in Simone's books are quite realistic, as she has participated in most of these in 'real life', as surreal as it may seem. Reading her new works certainly adds respect for her talent as a writer of erotic literature. And just as foreplay is the key to satisfying sex, Freier starts this her second book in a series of books labeled EXPERIENCES with some well written suggestive but not pornographic storyline. Once the reader catches the drift of her intent the urge is to stay with the book to see how far she will escort us into the world of sexual fetishes. Freier continues her adventures with Sam from Book 1 as the narrator. He visits Darlene and Dave, friends from the days before Sarah's death, who have also invited old friends Bill and Pam (Pam had been a sexual playmate with Sam and Sarah before her marriage) and Dave sensual daughter Kelly, a grad school biochemistry major - an instant chemistry is established between Sam and Kelly, a chemistry that leads to intense fantasies in Sam's psyche. As the story moves along Sam and Kelly unite in sharing their fantasies - man of which are identical. Kelly is active and is disappointed when men don't understand a woman's needs and Sam is more than willing to correct that for her! As Kelly opens up her fantasy sex life Sam is in line for carrying out all the experiments about which he has been dreaming. But again, as is Freier signature style, she spends a considerable amount of time in the foreplay of conversation and shared ideas between her characters before nay activity outside the mental images become corporeal. As Sam reveals his punishment fetish Kelly plays right along. Or as Sam states, `I am NOT interested in actually hurting anyone. All of my female partners have been close friends, who I've cared deeply for. Theoretically, I could just scare the woman, preparing her, putting her into a punishment position, and then ... not doing anything. Just the fact that she cooperates up to that point is an indication that she is submitting to me, and allowing me to do something that she fears or doesn't really want - for my pleasure. While I think role-playing can be neat, my fantasy doesn't involve `acting'; the pain must be real for the feelings to be real. In fact, as I told you, one of my turn-ons is to expose people to things they thought they would not enjoy; in nearly every case I've actually experienced, my partner really believes that she cannot withstand more... but she does, and it is a relief and very rewarding for both of us to find that she was stronger than she thought, and was able to have enough self-control to hold herself in position, as I administered whatever pain or embarrassment we had planned.' Kelly responds with questions about limits and about the spectrum of experiences she considers fulfilling, asking questions about genital-genital, genital-oral, genital-anal, oral-anal, or oral-oral contact. And Sam proceeds to his Punishment Agreement (remembering that Kelly is the daughter of friends) and so the games begin - spanking, needles, all the paraphernalia of BDSM and yet because the author takes such a leisurely pace with all the conversation and explanations the scene never becomes pornographic - just sensual - and finally Sam and Kelly, having gone through the fantasies, enjoy intercourse. Simone Freier has the world of erotica down pat. The book is rather lengthy and the description of some of the interplay can become repetitive, but the special aspect of the story is that we recognize and like the characters as people. These are not tropes used like tools - these are people about whom we care. And THAT is fine erotica! Grady Harp, August 14

First Experience by Simone Freier is her second book in the Experiences series but my first book by her. In the past I have not been very interested in Erotica that involves any aspects of the BDSM scene as it is not a scene that I can relate to. I have a difficult time understanding a person’s desire to participate in scene that involve someone else causing them pain, First Experience, however, showed me a whole different side to BDSM. First Experience is an adult novel that is definitely written for the 18+ crowd. The entire novel is primarily about the first submissive experience of Kelly, a 20 something graduate student with her parents 50 something year old friend. Sam, our older gentleman is a widower with some very interesting fantasies. For those who, like I, have thought of BDSM as all about experiencing pain from another or giving pain to someone else, First Experiences will be an eye opening experience that shows you how it can be about developing trust and openness. I really enjoyed First Experience and plan to read Book Three – Weekend Experiences when it comes out.

This seems to be all the rage these days, literary explorations of the erotic world of fetish and kink, but unfortunately, readers and critics often blur the line with smut, which this book is certainly not. Freier managed to write a fascinatingly honest and enlightening book about the lines between sex and love without making it sensational, tawdry, or cheap. There are ample sex scenes and erotic passages for those who enjoy those guilty pleasures, but this book is also overflowing with legitimate discussions on sexuality and personal boundaries, musings on relationships and individualism, and a decent amount of existential exploration. To be completely honest, I was looking forward to reading this as a better and less sensational version of Fifty Shades, but what I found wasn't what I was expecting. This was a thoughtful, passionate, and revelatory book that showed Freier's grasp on human sexuality, as well as human nature. There were a few clunky scenes where the writing didn't keep up with the ideas she was trying to express, but generally, this was an enjoyable and surprisingly engaging read. Don't always follow the hype of public opinion. Stepping outside the box and giving a new author a chance to express their take on the latest literary craze can be very rewarding. Nicely done, Simone!

After the terrific lead-in book to this series, Origins of a Fetish: The Evolving Fantasies and Fetishes of a Gentleman (Experiences Book 1), I was ready to jump right back into the lives of Sam and Kelly, and see where the story goes from there. And I definitely was not disappointed! I will say that the first book is basically necessary reading material, in order for you to enjoy this novel. While the first one is shorter, and is mostly introduction, this dives much deeper into the character’s lives, and minds, for some fascinating reading. The writing in interesting, as well: it is like a quasi-stream-of-consciousness style of writing, with pretty much nothing held back, and nothing left to the imagination. I say “quasi”, because that purports an autobiographical story, and since the author is a woman, that’s not 100% the case (although who knows, it could be 95% first hand knowledge!). It is an interesting style, although shocking at times, and it is kind of unlike anything else I have read. As I said in my review of the first book, this is not for someone who is uncomfortable with the subjects being discussed and described in this book. Although I will say that, while I don’t really have a PROBLEM with the situations, I don’t normally seek out stories INVOLVING these situations, and I still very much enjoyed it. I honestly think I enjoyed the writing style more than the content itself, now that I think about it! I highly recommend you pick up the first book, to see if this kind of book is for you, and if so, definitely check this one out.

Author Simone Freier does it once again in her second book of the Experiences series. Sam is the narrator of the story, which goes into titillating detail of the sensual and submissive relationship between him and Kelly. As they confide to each other their secret sexual fantasies, they come true in a graphic way throughout the novel. First Experiences: The Introduction of a Young Woman to Openness, Trust and New Experiences of the Submissive Kind is one of my favorites. I read the first book and anxiously awaited this one. I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend to fans of the genre. 5 stars!

Intriguing book! We get to meet Sam who on the surface is a sociable, amiable friendly middle-aged guy with a circle of friends but now on the side-lines somewhat since the death of his beloved wife. His life has something missing on many levels, and now, with time to focus on his own life and future he hopes to find a play partner to finally embark on an adventure of discovery and exploration in intimacy, trust, openness, submission and emotion. It’s fascinating as we begin to learn what Sam is really like as he finally finds this partner in Kelly a young woman, daughter of a family friend – we see this from Sam’s point of view as we get to hear his thoughts, but also from how he and Kelly interact, and while I thought this was going to be more about Sam controlling the relationship and everything that happens, there are excellent moments when Sam too is surprised by Kelly’s response or has to really act in a way that makes him think twice about how vulnerable he’s making himself and for me this was what gave this book the edge over many erotic romance books I’ve seen before and this is where Simone Freier shows her skill as a writer to bring this to life. Definitely an original work, well-written.

Sexy and erotic exploration First Experience indeed! Sam is introduced or I should say reintroduced to Darlene and Dave's (his friends) daughter, Kelly, a now fully-grown sexual young woman. Needless to say, the experience is not just for Kelly but for Sam as well, as he brings her into his world of BDSM and fantasies, as he allows her to share hers. It's written beautifully as Kelly grows within the pages of the book, clearly finding her own desires for submission and openness that builds to a great bond of trust with Sam. The fantasies are deep into medical fetishes, and should only be read by someone who can deal with the darker side of BDSM. I will definitely be reading Book 3.

First Experience offers an interesting look in the world of BDSM, with the focus being on openness, trust and honesty, even more than it is on sex and arousal. The book follows Sam, a man in his fifties who is attracted to younger woman and to making them submit. He’s not a sadist, at least he doesn’t see himself as one. It’s not hurting others that he enjoys, it’s having others submit to them, having them do things they don’t want to do, but that they do anyway, to please him. It’s explained quite well and the book, almost as if Sam is rationalizing what he does and feels. It gives an interesting insight in his personality, and makes it easier for the reader to connect with him. He goes to a casual dinner party at the house of one of his friends, where he meets Kelly, an attractive young woman who is confident and open, and who might just be the woman he was looking for. They agree to meet on a rather casual date, but then once they’re on the date, Sam starts talking about his fantasies, and realizes Kelly has quite a few fantasies of her own. Now this part of the book was the only one I had some trouble connecting with, because it seemed a bit random. With that, I mean that going out to talk about a serious topics (Kelly’s PH.D) with an older man, and he immediately starts talking about sexual fantasies…I felt like this scene needed maybe slightly more build up, it felt a little awkward. It doesn’t creep Kelly out though, which is a little odd considering she doesn’t know Sam all that well. Having sexual fantasies is great, but talking about them right away… I understand the focus was on the “First Experience”, which happens later on, but I still felt like this should’ve been fleshed out a bit more. Finding they have some fantasies in common, Sam and Kelly decide to play out their fantasies, in particular Sam’s. His fantasies involve spanking and medical exams. When Kelly arrives at his house for her “First Experience”, she’ll get a level-100 punishment, which is definitely creative. I won’t tell you everything that happens, because I don’t want to spoil it for you, but let’s say the book is 375 pages long, and over 300 of those pages take place on that day, so Kelly doesn’t get off the hook lightly. The characters are well-developed. We get more insight in Sam’s mind than in Kelly’s, since he’s the narrator, and sometimes I missed having Kelly’s perspective. Hopefully we’ll get more of that in the second book. The book focuses heavily on openness, honesty and trust, and Sam gives detailed explanations to Kelly about his actions, while he’ll do something and what he’ll do. It’s an interesting book, entertaining and engaging too, and the talk about trust and honesty worked well. I look forward to the sequel. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I recently read Origins Of A Fetish (Book One) by Simone Freier and felt that it was a very good guidebook to sexual fetishes. The amazing experiences that the protagonist, Sam, enjoys were very interesting and unique to me. Not that I consider myself an expert but we all hear about fetishes on the news, in erotic books, from movies. Sam's fetish is a medical interest in the body, which includes needles, spankings, enemas, thermometers, and other items readily available in a doctor's office. As enjoyable as it was to learn about this highly intriguing fetish, I felt that there was something missing. In Book Two, First Experience, author Simone Freier finds her writing skills and finds that missing aspect which made this read even more entertaining for me. In Book One, Sam is almost clinical about his pursuit to find a partner to share in his sexual adventures. Even while carrying out his 'punishments' with his partner, there is a bit of detachment on Sam's part. In Book Two, however, Sam shows the same care and skill in his pursuit of enjoyment but he also feels more, or at least shows his feelings a bit more, than in Origins of a Fetish. Considering that he enjoys the trust aspect of his particular fetish, it is very important to the reader, I believe, that Sam shows emotion and care for his partner. And when Sam gets reacquainted with Kelly, the daughter of some social friends, he experiences some very deep and real emotions for her. In addition to the more human side of fetishes, First Experience also highlights Kelly's emotions and feelings and gives her character more realism than the characters in Origins. I have to say that it's very enjoyable to watch an author progress in her writing. Too often, authors will find their stride, whether it's good or bad, and stick to that formula. Freier, a former nurse, grows and blossoms like a flower in her series. I can't wait to see what she writes next!!

Having read another of Simone Freier's book in this series, “Origins of a Fetish: The Evolving Fantasies and Fetishes of a Gentleman,” I was excited to read this one and it didn't disappoint. In “First Experience: The Introduction of a Young Woman to Openness, Trust, and New Experiences of the Submissive Kind” we are again introduced to Sam, who is ready to delve into his fantasies of submission. He starts a “relationship” of play with Kelly, a woman half his age. What begins as a fantasy, may just become more than that or will it lead to him simply realizing how much fun he can have with others – you'll have to read it to find out. I enjoyed it very much. Some of the play got a tad monotonous but nothing that was annoying or didn't have me turning pages. It may not be every person's cup of tea but I did enjoy it and was ready for more.

First Experience: The Introduction of a Young Woman to Openness, Trust & New Experiences of the Submissive Kind is very much what the title suggests. It’s a story of lust and desire with the main character, Sam, after the passing of his wife, having a sensual tryst of fantasy with a young woman half his age. His desires are more than fulfilled with Kelly. Freier’s second book in the Experiences series doesn’t disappoint. I should point out that it’s definitely a novel for mature audiences only. Some of the material could make the sensitive reader uncomfortable. Very graphic in detail, but a great read nonetheless!

A Young Woman Finds a New World and Begins to Grow; Author is Excellent Did you know there's writing about sex and there's writing about sex? Are you confused, don't be because sex, in the hands of the wrong writers, is hoked up, one-dimensional and cardboard. In the hands of a capable writer like Simone Freier it is free, fully formed, multi-dimensional and multi-hued. The difference between the average sex writer and Simone Friere is like the difference between a campfire and a raging inferno. Simone Freier is just that good. Although a trained nurse, who has practiced many of the scenes she writes about, is a natural writing talent whose ability to set a scene and step through it carefully, while drawing the reader along is excellent. Like others, you may want to pull back from “First Experiences: The Introduction of a Young Woman to Openness, Trust, and New Experiences of the Submission Kind” but you do not as you just have to see what happens next. At first, for example, Freier talks about Sam, who appears as a principal in the first book of this series, where you meet the others in his life, his wife, women friends, couples and others who like submissive sex. Now, a couple of years later, Bill has lost his wife and play partner, Linda, gone underground and has resurfaced, his grieving done. An active practitioner and participant also, Sam is now looking for a younger partner with whom to play. He finds Kelly, the daughter of his friends Dave and Darlene, at a dinner party. Immediately, Sam is smitten. Thinking aloud to the reading audience, Sam says he could have “taken her … right there.” Kelly is a beautiful, grad student, who has just graduated with her master's in biochemistry. She is planning to work toward her doctorate as it is the bio-research community's degree of choice. She and Sam chat for a bit about old times and people. Sam actually knew Kelly as a child when she was playing soccer, as were his own boys and her older brothers. At length, there's a silence. At this point, Sam, thinking she and he are done with their conversation, turns to go inside to meet the other guests. He is stopped short when Kelly abruptly asks for help in future career (Sam has been in bio-research for some years). She then asks if they can get together for coffee to which Sam readily agrees. Outwardly, Sam is somewhat reserved, inwardly he is gratified and excited. He had hoped for more and he received his wish. Apparently sensing an unfulfilled need in her, he believes he has found the girl of his fantasies, the one who will help him live out his fantasies. Kelly doesn't know it, but she has just changed her life. That's as much as I'm going to reveal because don't want to spoil it for you. If I went on you would miss some rich writing and some of the best writing on sex and submissiveness that I have found. Let's face facts, it is easy to write about sex. I could do it, having been a writer for many years, but I know it would be mechanical and would lack the depth and breadth that Freier puts into her work. Freier's talent is so good that you don't know it is there once you submit to this book and get involved. Freier is no pinch-penny with her work. She allows you into each scene she describes and takes you fully step-by-step, inch-by-inch, into the action, knowing you will be part of the secret club who admires her work. You see, Friere is not only an excellent sex writer, but she is also an incredibly talented writer. She uses her talent well in “Experiences” so that you are never overwhelmed by what is going on. Sex is used well, but as a plotting device for what I feel is another message in this novel that of an adventurous journey. Freier, I believe, has Sam and Kelly, two very unlikely candidates for a hookup, get together, but in that meeting, she begins their journey of discovery. Sexual play and their weekend together will give them that and more. However, you do have to realize it will create as many questions as it solves. I think, though, you will probably find the ultimate solution in the next book.

It's five years after Sarah passed away.  Sam's life has changed in many ways.  He's decided to pursue some of his fetishes.  Now he only needs to find a willing woman.  More than a willing woman, she needs to be open to trying these fetishes out.  Sam is meticulous about every detail of each fetish and about the type of woman he wants to enjoy them with.  Low and behold he gets reintroduced to his neighbor's daughter.  She's perfect, if only she were willing.        Written in a clinical style, this book takes all the fun out of fetishes.  Things never go as smoothly as they are portrayed in this book.  Unless you live the lifestyle, I doubt you'd find a willing partner.  The whole point to fetishes and sex is for it to be enjoyable. This book wipes all that away.      I did find issues.  The characters are dull.  The writing style is better suited to how-to manuals. There is no excitement or enjoyment in this book.      I gave this one 2 cheers out of 5 because it actually bored me.   ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~
