Hope Granger was right- there was never anything good about a phone call that wakes you up in the middle of the night, but this one struck stark terror into the deepest realms of her heart, despite the fact that it wasn't all that unexpected: A.J. Thornton wasn't doing well, and she was the cavalry. The only person on this green Earth that might - just might - be able to snap him out of the deep blue funk his recent disability had caused. Although she immediately agreed to fly down to Texas to help him, Hope wasn't at all sure she'd be able to - especially not without laying her own heart - and bottom - on the line again.

This was a sweet story which I considered far more as a romance than a spanking story as there is almost no spanking. That said, it was a story of hope in that AJ Thornton was in an accident that almost killed him. The woman that had broken off their engagement over a spanking 2 years earlier immediately goes to him and helps him remember that he has no choice but to recover. While predictable, it was a nice, easy read love story and I can easily see his many brothers all winding up with a story of their own.
SL: Not what I was expecting. This was a different tale that I was expecting. It has minimal spanking and is more about love no matter what the circumstances. AJ loved Hope and was engaged to be married. Hope loved AJ until he spanked her for putting herself down. With that she gave the rings back and fled to another state. I think that was a bit of an overreaction personally, especially since she didn’t talk to him about it . AJ is hurt in an accident and may not survive. Hope returns to help him because she says she loves him, although she leaves again when it looks like he will be ok, and before he wakes up. She comes back a second time when he is doing poorly. It is a story of Hope helping AJ and finally coming to grips with her feelings and why she left in the first place. It has a happy ending and was well written. It did have some sex scenes in it as well as two brief spanking scenes. It is not a typical Carolyn Faulkner, but it is a good story about finding out who you really are in hard times. I was short, but as I say, I like happy endings!
Timberlan127 I loved this story. I felt the characters were easy to relate to and showed genuine love and affection for each other. Great plot that was well written and kept my interest throughout. I love books that are about a family that takes care of each other. If you're looking for an enjoyable read this is it.
I love how love seems to conquer all.....Hope runs away from the love of her life because he spanks her and she can't deal with how that makes her feel.....She comes running back home because he is hurt and he needs her. Aj is awful and mean to hope, but she puts up with it all because she still loves him and wants to come back home. Hope and Aj begin to mens their lives and their hearts and find home once again.
I really loved this family and how they all came together to help A.J. get thru his disability even to the point of calling the one and only person who might be able to make a difference, Hope. This story shows the ups and downs that can happen in a relationship and how sometimes what is needed is a spanking to clear the air. Can't wait to read about the other brothers stories.
