The book reminds all of us who have had such experiences of the comfort of camaraderie in the blind, dogs and calls and the ultimate lure of the migratory fowl. You'll take a nostalgic journey back to those days of brisk early mornings, iridescent sunrises, and shadowy figures in flight.

These pictures are a mystery, once a strange mixture; part photojournalistic and then art - something that rarely or never occurs.

I think this makes a wonderful challenge for a book, or a grouping. But how does one separate the two equal aspects? Maybe the mystery lies there - art on the vine certainly there. Journalism too.

If you truly appreciate waterfowling and desire a good read on some of the duck hunting clubs in the S-SE portion of our fine country than this book should do the trick for you. Quality photography and an "inside look" at the clubs selected help you to get a better appreciation for our grand pursuit and what they're all about. Tradition and rituals pay a key role in their very existence. It does help that they have the $$ to back it up! Personally I liked the sequel to this book, "A Million Wings" better, but both are QUALITY books!
