All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
The Brass Tracks Jazz Orchestra is a fine, swinging big band from Illinois. Although none of the sidemen are famous and most have day jobs, their musicianship is strong, they read their parts well, and they take credible solos. Probably the strong point to their debut release is the diverse repertoire with the exception of the insipid "Memory". Highlights include "In a Mellotone" which, although given a new arrangement, is reminiscent of Count Basie, "Tanga," "Ain't Misbehavin'," and a vibes feature for Bill Hansen on "Hello Again."
