Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
As its title suggests, this personable and reasonably priced book offers a very basic introduction to all aspects of digital photography. After the mandatory chapter about advantages and disadvantages of digital photography, Lessing discusses image transfer, computer memory, and other basic questions regarding equipment. She then evaluates and compares various editing software, devoting separate chapters to each of three major products. In subsequent chapters and the appendixes, she discusses other important questions, notably organizing files and troubleshooting in a FAQ format. The book includes an extensive and very useful glossary and will appeal to amateur photographs in particular. Cartoons add to its friendly, accessible tone. This book is a bargain; recommended for public libraries. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
