About the Author

Libby Moore is an embroidery artist and the owner of Thread Folk, where she creates modern embroidery patterns. Thread Folk started as a creative outlet after busy days of parenting young children and it has evolved into a fulfilling and exciting dream job of creativity and collaboration! Libby is self-taught in embroidery and loves to help others learn this age-old art form through the use of her patterns and workshops. She lives in Calgary with her husband and four sons.

PreS-K—The subtitle is not succinct: "A Padded Board Book for Infants and Toddlers featuring First Words and Adorable Embroidery Pictures." However, it is true. The third title in the "Crafty First Words Series" features detailed stitched and embroidered illustrations that leap off the page and make children and their adults try out words and perhaps wish to gather simple materials to make things. A wide variety of vocabulary is introduced in spreads on topic areas including "nature, toys, and yummy foods." VERDICT Eye-catching and inspiring, this book could launch shared creative sessions as well as word lessons. Recommended.—John Scott
