Cut & Run Series Book Three: Sequel to Sticks & Stones

Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are back on the job, settled into a personal and professional relationship built on fierce protectiveness and blistering passion. Now they're assigned to impersonate two members of an international smuggling ring-an out-and-proud married couple-on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean. As their boss says, surely they'd rather kiss each other than be shot at, and he has no idea how right he is.

Portraying the wealthy criminals requires a particular change in attitude from Ty and Zane while dealing with the frustrating waiting game of their assignment. As it begins to affect how they treat each other in private, Ty and Zane realize there's more to being partners than watching each other's backs, and when the case takes an unexpected turn and threatens Ty's life, Ty and Zane will have to navigate seas of white lies and stormy secrets, including some of their own.

    A- rating....

    My Review:
Finally, Ty and Zane are out on assignment again, but it's unlike any assignment they've ever had to face...they are undercover as a married gay couple on a 15 day cruise. While on the surface, this appears to be a perfect assignment...one where they don't have to hide their relationship. It's definitely changing the dynamic of their relationship. In some ways it's making things easier and in some ways it's raising questions they aren't quite ready to face yet.

In book #2, Ty accepted the fact that he loves Zane. He also knows that Zane doesn't feel the same way about him. At the beginning of the book, Zane is still wearing his wedding ring from his dead wife. That lingering specter definitely still hangs over their relationship in both their minds. And it's a specter that comes into play in this book as Zane has to replace that wedding ring with the fake one from their fake marriage.

It's a fake marriage, but it has definite appeal to both of them. That tension was huge in this book as they are both dealing with those feelings that aren't supposed to be there with something they both agreed that they'd never want. They were wrong. This is something that these authors write so well...that tension. The feelings that no one will quite own up to, although reading it, they are so obvious. *gah* Those little moments between them are so gorgeous and so gut-wrenching. It makes these books so good!!!

In their undercover personas, Zane is the Alpha in the relationship with Ty being the eye-candy. It's something that they both find surprisingly appealing and was a twist that I definitely didn't see coming. No one can ever deny that Ty is a real Alpha guy, but in this book, he is forced to take a more submissive role and finds that he (and Zane) like it.

I didn't feel like the suspense line was as strong in this book, but the emotional moments between Zane and Ty more than made up for that. As they become closer and get to know each other better, those moments happen more and more and I loved that aspect of this book! There are definitely still tons of hurdles for these guys and I know that it isn't going to be an easy ride. I can't wait to see where the authors go next.

This has got to be the best book out of the series. Now that they have admitted their feelings for each other in the second book, their strength and attraction for each other become challenged and tested in this book as Ty and Zane start seeing the not so pretty and the struggles each other are going through. A lot of trust must go into these two characters! Not to mention the sex is absolutely amazing in this book. There are just no words to express how amazing it is. =] I can't wait to read Divide and Conquer!
