Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
PreS Up-- A unique picture book that can be used with almost any age group. Its message is clear--imagination is the root of art. A simple text accompanies bright photographs of folk objects from the museum. In addition to the running prose that encourages readers to make art out of scrap material, a caption to each photo explains the work in more detail (and somewhat more sophisticated writing). Art teachers will certainly find this book inspirational, but so will anyone hoping to encourage creativity. Younger students will be fascinated by some of the art pieces, such as a lion made from bottle caps. All readers are sure to see art from a new perspective. --Susan H. Williamson, Homer-Center School District, PA
