Overview

A bestselling self-help author's proven prescription for losing weight and keeping it off with no pills, no gadgets, no gimmicks, and no dieting

Each year, Americans invest more time, more energy, and more money—$33 billion! —trying to lose weight. Yet, the rates of obesity and related illnesses, such as diabetes and heart disease, continue to climb at an alarming pace. Statistically, heroin addicts have better odds of kicking their habit than food junkies do of kicking theirs. After decades of crash dieting and self-recrimination, Victoria Moran chanced upon a very basic truth about weight loss that allowed her to lose 60 pounds and keep it off for 17 years and counting. In Fit from Within, she shares with you what she learned and outlines a complete mind-body approach to attaining and maintaining your ideal weight.

Writing with the sensitivity of one who's been there, she helps you to understand and confront the emotional and spiritual roots of your unhealthy relationship with food and to make the personal transformation from a prisoner of food to being free to live a happier, healthier, more fulfilling life.

"This is the book everyone plagued with extra pounds has been waiting for. Fresh, clear, and compassionate, and—this is the clincher—it works." —Richard Carlson, author of Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Almost 6 years ago, I said 'enough' and took off 50 lbs. I should mention that was the second time I had said 'enough'. Twice in my life I have gained and lost 50 pounds. This time I wanted to make the change a permanent one and do everything in my power to keep any additional pounds from creeping back on. To that end, I am successful and have maintained my weight loss. To help me stay focused, I am constantly on the prowl for 'GOOD' materials and this book is top notch. Practical, solid good advice. If you shy away from 'spiritual' materials - this one is OK as the author addresses spiritality as your own personal beliefs and doesn't go into any particular religion at all. This book will help anyone on any part of the journey of achieving optium health.

I Loved this book... its exactly what I've been searching for! I'm reading it as one would a daily religious devotional.... because honestly... that's the feel to the book.... inspirational, beautiful.. meaningful. As someone who's been on every diet imaginable... and has realized 'they only work if you do them' this is a great way to work within myself to get to the heart of changing my behavior... and feeling good... not changing what I eat! And best of all!!! IT'S NOT A DIET!!!!! A must read for anyone who 'know's how to do it' but just doesn't.

This is an incredible book - that I found just at the right time. This book is for everyone that realizes that 'dieting' is not the way to loose weight. This works on the inside out, and incorporates both practical and spiritual advice that I believe anyone could benefit from.

The title of this book caught my attention at first and then I picked it up and started reading it and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! Each one or one and a half page chapter makes you feel even better than the one before! As you read, you start to look at yourself and your fridge in a totally different way. It is NOT about dieting (which by the way never works anyway), it's about making choices. "Would I rather eat an entire cake or something that will fill me up just as much without making me feel bad about myself?" Victoria Moran helps to bring out the strong, healthy woman (or man) in all of us. She deserves a great big hug and a Thank You for writing a book that is so completely wonderful.

Fit from Within was a real eye-opener for me. After years of struggling with weight loss and unsuccessfully trying diet after diet, I now realize I needed to change more than my eating habits. I have to start making changes from within. Already after just a few weeks, I am developing a much healthier attitude towards food and eating.

what I love about this book is it is REAL PRACTICAL AND IMMEDIATE. Amazing techniques for changing your body AND THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR BODY. I love that you can read just a little a day, use it as a daily mediation book and when you get to the end start over!

The 101 secrets in Fit From Within has offered me tools for healing some very old and deep shadows that relate to food and eating. Victoria's courage to share her own story with honesty, practical suggestions and compassion shines through each page. The spiritual thread that is woven throughout encourages me to believe that each of us can truly become 'fit from within.' Thank you Victoria!

I just finished this book and I am about to read it again. I already feel better about myself and usually I had to at least lose the first 5 pounds to be able to say that. Reading this book is such a pleasure. I love the way the suggestions are gentle but no-nonsense too. Do yourself a favor and read this book. There's nothing else like it out there.
