Overview

From setting appropriate goals for each type of fitness to learning how to feed both body and soul, this ground-breaking guide goes beyond the typical health mantras—eat right, exercise regularly, reduce stress—and explores the emotional and physical obstacles to corporeal and spiritual fitness. Based on the immensely successful training of a six-time Ironman triathlete by a renowned Huichol Indian healer, this handbook seeks to remedy the conspicuous absence of spirituality in typical Western exercise regimens by explaining how to incorporate the divine into everyday exercises and why the two issues are inexorably linked. After years of respective training, both parties realized that the art of prayer and its signature mindfulness could increase not only one’s physical abilities but also the mind, and that fitness wasn’t just a matter of good cardiovascular health and strong muscles. Whether training for intense competition or just reaching fitness goals, this indispensable resource discusses how to exceed mental limitations and become successful in any physical, emotional, or spiritual journey.

    Great keeper

This is is a great book for those who is passioned enough to read such educational books. It opens a very interesting spiritual site of your world observation and understanding. A lot of things explained from the prospective of Mexican Huicol Indians seem to be easy to feel and to follow. Imagination is the real co-worker during this book, if you did not have any previous contacts with native spiritual world.

I have been reeding several fiction book, but this is very successful combination of spiritual and physical cooperation. I was surprised to find this book between books about triathlon, although I was interested in such. It explains in simple steps the complex structure of human body, soul and balance between them, which helped me a lot to understand my mistakes I was doing with overtraining. I am using some techniques from this inspirational guide. They are so simple and great! Stories from Mark are coming from the real life and are very interesting, which makes such lecture less dry to read. Sometimes you can even feel close his experience.

Nutritional part leads you through all food you are going to need for different stiles of your life. Make sure to read it again after your finished this book. It gets better.

I can recommend this book for everyone, who wants to understand and improve his life, no matter where: in your job, sports or family. Or all them...

Only the ending is different and brings up some open questions, which in their turn push you to read it again...enjoy!
