Purpose: This superb textbook covers all aspects of dermatology and is to be used as a detailed and very complete reference.
Audience: It can be used by dermatologists and dermatology residents, general practitioners (internal and family medicine), cosmetic surgeons, and any other practitioner who treats skin disease.
Features: This 3,000-page, two-volume encyclopedia is a complete dermatology text, with contributions by over 300 world-renowned authorities that cover the entire spectrum of dermatology including clinical dermatology and therapeutics, dermatopathology, dermatological surgery, and basic sciences in dermatology and immunology. The new edition has over 2200 color photographs and adds coverage of many new topics, including cosmetic and dermatologic surgery, in more than 40 new chapters Excellent diagrams, illustrations, and summary tables are provided, and the text is well written and complete.
Assessment: This classic dermatology book is truly the most prestigious and authoritative American dermatology text available. The new edition is significantly improved and more complete. Overall, this is an outstanding textbook.
