In this book, the heroine is trying to avenge the murder of her late husband while the hero is trying to rescue the heroine. What they end up with is a deep love that sizzles at the edges, all the while, drawing you into a western mystery. The depth and complexity of this heroine is a rarity in this genre. Truly one of the best books I have ever read.

This was the first book of Gem's that I have read and it will not be the last. It was totally fantastic and a wonderful western. After reading this book I went and purchased Breed True, Intimate Strangers, and Wolf's Tender.
