Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Cheri Stowers
Five dancing ladybugs set the scene for this charming early counting book. As the happy dancers swing and sway on the sand, one twirls away and now there are four. Four ladybugs bob up and down on the blue waves. One ventures out to chase a saucy little fish and now there are threetwoand finally only one ladybug is left. She is all alone--but not for long. With a quick telephone call, she invites her friends to join her and the fun begins again. The bright, bold illustrations are a perfect match for this rhythmic, rhyming tale. An addendum is included which invites children to sing the words to the tune of Five Little Ducks. Another fun feature of the book includes a zany critter called Noodlebug who is hiding somewhere among the pages. Children will enjoy trying to discover his secret hiding place. This is a delightful read aloud/sing-along and could be enhanced with rhythm instruments, finger puppets, and other types of dramatization.
