After reading Five:  A salute to Nickals Lidstrom, I have learned so much more about the great hockey player that I did not know before.  This book represents a time line of Nicklas Lidstrom's life and the highlights of his hockey career, mainly with the Detroit Red Wings.  I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars (no pun intended).  I rate the book highly because it is not just a book of career statistics and facts; it is more interesting and hooks the audience with separate stories.  In addition, the book is not solely about Nicklas Lidstrom, it incorporates his influences as well as family, friends and coaching staff.  Before picking out this book I was nervous of the all-fact type of reading, but in the end I found it to be more of a story, which was intriguing.  The writers, Bob Duff and Bill Roose, did an amazing job quoting a variety of influences and owners for Lidstrom’s book to show his positive reputation for all audiences, Red Wings fans or not.  Also, not only does the style of writing hook the audience, the pictures and visuals do as well.  Overall, the book was extremely fascinating and I could not put it down.  I recommend for anyone to read it, no matter what age.
