What would you give up to get the life of your dreams?

“When a power-hungry politician’s wife leaves her glamorous but shallow marriage, hightails it for her childhood home and trades in her perfectly tailored suits for zebra-print cowboy boots and a pink tool belt, you can bet things get dusty, and dicey. Fixer Upper is a sassy, fun read that proves going home can sometimes be the smartest thing a broken-hearted woman can do.”
-Beth Hoffman, bestselling author of Saving CeeCee Honeycutt

So this is what the last straw looks like. Macy Baxter hightails it to the heartland to heal her broken heart and search for the answers to fixing her life and saving her family’s vineyard, Dust Bowl Winery. With the hot pink tool belt her daddy gave her for her 35th birthday, Macy starts turning her life around, one makeover project at a time. Thanks to the presence other high school boyfriend-turned-carpenter and the computer nerd-turned-millionaire who hires her to turn the abandoned Art Deco hospital into a modern home, Macy finds it’s not too late for romance or a career of her own. But will her absence make her husband’s heart grow fonder? Will she cast a vote for the posh life or the pastures?

An uplifting story of girl power, power tools and getting the life you love.

What readers are saying about Fixer Upper:

“Another wonderful novel by Malena Lott! Very touching story with the perfect mixture of humor and drama. The characters are well developed and interesting; I could relate to the main character, Macy Baxter in many ways. It even sparked a great conversation between my husband and myself about relationships and family dynamics. I would highly recommend this book.” – Robi

“Out of all of Malena Lott’s books, this one is my favorite. It is an easy, light, and fun to read book. The combination of female empowerment and subtle romance sets the stage for a realistic plot that left me not wanting to put this book down. It even left me feeling ready to tackle my own home improvement project. I highly recommend Fixer Upper!” – Erin O.

Editorial Reviews

FIxer Upper is the perfect title for this wonderful story of a woman who, disillusioned with living the life everyone expected her to live, rediscovers her own power and pursues the life and values that are truly important to her. In doing so, she not only finds her own true value but shows her daughters what a strong woman looks like, one who can take on adversity and not just survive, but thrive. This is a lesson for every one of us! Read it! You'll be glad you did!

Meet the Author

Born during tornado season in western Oklahoma, Malena has been a bookworm since she first read, "The Poky Little Puppy" and has been an avid storyteller since she created incredible plot lines for her Barbies. Everyone wants Ken! She tucked her fiction ambitions in her big curly head long enough to attend the University of Oklahoma (BOOMER!) on a journalism scholarship. A member of Alpha Chi Omega, she graduated with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, married her college sweetheart, worked in TV, corporate marketing, had two kids, started an ad agency, had another beautiful babe, published her first novel, "The Stork Reality" in 2006, became a brand consultant and finally let those stories in her curly head fly.

Her humorous and heartfelt novels include "Something New," "The Stork Reality," "Fixer Upper," and "Dating da Vinci," and her newest release "Family Charms". She's also authored the popular beach novellas, "Life's a Beach," set in Mexico and "The Last Resort," set in Maui, Hawaii. Her short story and essay collection includes "Hope Floats: Stories on Loss and Living On" and her first non-fiction book is"Dance Mom Survival Guide." Her first young adult novel, Twin Falls, was published in June 2013, in the Messengers trilogy under the pen name Lena Brown.

Ladies you will thank yourself for buying this book!

Just finished Fixer Upper, it was a quick read for me as I couldn't stop turning the pages. Malena Lott has taken us down a road well traveled which is, being a woman trying to find her place in life.
We can take the easy way out and settle for less, or we can take Macy's lead and roll sleeves and become a FIXER UPPER in our own lives!
This book will inspire you to be true to yourself! As for me, I'm just waiting for her next book to come out! Until then I am back to reading it a second time.
