Overview

Foot pain and injuries can thwart even the most experienced athletes, whether on the trail, asphalt, or ball court. Every professional or amateur athlete who pushes the limits of their feet needs to learn the basics and finer points of footcare. Foot expert and ultrarunner John Vonhof discredits the conventional wisdom of "no pain, no gain," teaching instead how the interplay of anatomy, biomechanics, and footwear can lead to happy or hurting feet. With a focus on individual and team care, the 5th edition of Fixing Your Feet covers all that any active person needs to know to find out what works now and also hundreds of miles down the road.

Vonhof's advice comes from his own experience as well as from numerous foot experts and ultramarathoners who know what works for them. For each problem, numerous solutions are offered. There is no one best solution -- different treatments work for different feet. Clear diagrams, photos, and charts demonstrate foot maladies and treatment techniques.

This comprehensive resources covers the full gamut of footwear basics, prevention, and treatments. If it can happen to a foot, it's covered in this book.

Fixing Your Feet - a must have product for serious athletes!

John Vonhofs, Fixing Your Feet book continues to amaze me, edition after edition. Containing an immense compilation of product suggestions, stories from avid runners and 'how-to' tips, Fixing Your Feet is a must-have book. The book contains the latest products for common problems like preventing and treating blisters as well as ways to improve traditional taping and wound care techniques. A great resource to learn it all! Fixing Your Feet includes foot care tips from the 'who's-who' of distance running and adventure racing. Who know's better about how to improve your running game and end problematic foot problems than the very athletes who put their feet through the most extreme conditions every day? It's intriguing to hear people's 'war' stories about running hundred milers with little to no rest. Vonhof clearly has a passion for teaching athletes to care for their feet and offering solutions that keep us on our feet. Thanks for including ENGO Blister Prevention Patches in your book. Fixing Your Feet is a great resource and will surely aide in our mission to spread the word about being proactive about blister care.
