This is an intersting selection of old letters and journals written by the principle people in the story of the growth of a farm from native swamp land to a productive modern rice farm. The period covered is roughly from 1930 to 1975, but there is information about the land both before and after that period of time. Although the collection cannot help displaying the love in this family, it is not a story of the love of people, but of the dedication to making the swamp land into a farm. The various geneological data and relevant pictures bring personal feeling to this interesting document. It is obviously written to the decendants of the author, but it may be an enjoyable read for anyone interested in that time period of the american experiance. Was this review helpful?
