This record shows all the versatile things that this woman can do. She has a voice like an angel. I can relate to the things that she is singing about. When you feel down you can easily pull this out and listen to some of the meaningful songs such 'You Saved My Life', 'Let me Be There' or 'Don't BLock The Blessings'. If you just want to bob your head and sway with rhythm then listen to 'When you talk about love', 'Someone like you' or 'Shoe is on the other foot'. Way to go Mrs. Patti LaBelle. I highly recommend this to all young or old, male or female. I am only 19 and she caught my attention. Great JOb!!

By the time she released Flame in 1997, Patti LaBelle had settled into a comfortable, reliable groove. Following her mid-'80s comeback, LaBelle gradually moved toward a neo-sophisticated, laid-back, adult contemporary style that only occasionally touched on urban soul. Which means Flame is largely a slick, seductive collection of ballads punctuated by a handful of restrained dance-pop numbers. A team of producers -- including David Foster, Gerald LeVert, Arif Mardin and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis -- worked on Flame, but ...
