The deepest blues on here is "Whiskey Man" aka "Ten Cent Shot," a splendid talking blues with nice, understated slide guitar from the unknown guitarist on this date. But in the main it's Red in high rockin' gear, a man who was truly ahead of his time. While not rivaling his early RCA sides, this session comes as a really nice surprise.
