Overview

A beagle puppy is discarded like trash on the Eastern Shore. He lived in fear and hopelessness – until the day Scooter and Gabby pulled into the country diner where he hid out. Little Flash suddenly found himself relocated to Sandbridge Beach, becoming a member of their little family of three.
Flash and Gabby bonded, despite completely different personalities. Together, these two uniquely talented, compassionate canines brightened Scooter’s days as the trio became an unbeatable team.
Their many humorous and heartwarming adventures will touch the reader. Gabby stars in a Disney movie, Scooter’s debut novel’s published and Flash accompanies him on the book tour, and special-needs children are treated to “beach camp”. Along the way, events full of suspense and mystery add intrigue to the beach trio’s lives.
Once Flash fully realizes he is loved and has a real home, he grows into a daring, brave dog that exhibits a sincere concern for others, including Scooter and Gabby.
This novel, the sequel to ‘Gabby…All About Me’, fits the bill for dog lovers of all ages.

This is the most wonderful book on so many fronts that you just have to read this! This book is full of friendship, devotion, bravery, family and the love of handicapped children and animals, just to name a few of its qualities. And to keep us all guessing the wonderful author, Lee Carey, throws in some intense suspense!

This is no marshmallow cream story! And the author has a very clever writing style that lulls you into this nice calm place and then Wham-O ! I loved it!

There are so many wonderful qualities in this book and good life lessons cleverly built into the story that I didn't want it to end. I hope there will be another sequel coming.

If you haven't read the first book already, 'Gabby...All About Me' be sure to read that first so you will know the "whole" story!

Thank you Lee Carey for both of these wonderful books. I hope there is another one in the works about these special characters! Phyllis Locke

I didn't know what to expect when I read this book as I wasn't familiar with the series. From the first page I was completely enchanted with Flash and Gabby. This is a delightful story and a joy to read. I love the way Scooter converses with the dogs and Lee Carey made me believe they really do this! He has a charming writing style and I laughed, cried and rooted for these amazing characters all the way. The beach setting adds to the happy, laid back, over all feel of the book. I am so glad to have read this and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Congratulations Lee Carey, this is an absolute gem. Audrey Carden, UK

Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Joe Perrone
Much as did one of Lee's previous books that I read ('Out of the Rough') Flash...the Humble Hero also brought a smile to my face. With a story line straight out of a Frank Capra movie ('Pocketful of Miracles' comes to mind), Flash...the Humble Hero calls upon the reader to completely suspend reality and accept as fact that two dogs, Gabby and Flash, can talk and communicate with their owner, Scooter. "As an author, I highly recommend this enjoyable read." Author, Joe Perrone, Jr., NC

Horror fans read Stephen King. Pet Lovers should read Lee Carey. In his third full-length novel featuring four-legged characters, Carey introduces a human protagonist who's an all-American guy. Scooter Bissell is an ex-soldier going to college on the GI Bill and a surfer turned author who hits it big with not only a publishing contract, but a film deal from Disney to produce his book, GABBY . . . ALL ABOUT ME. Oh yeah, Scooter also talks to his pups, and them to him. Author, Wayne Zurl, TN
