I Also Recommend:

    What about the non-developers?

The great thing about Web 2.0 is that it allows us all to become producers, consumers, and re-mixers of content. Anyone with limited technical capability can create a blog, upload some photos to Flickr, create a page on MySpace and so on.

But until recently, only 'developers' could take full advantage of the potential to 'mash up' web content. Those developers are served very well indeed by this book (hence the four stars), but what about the talented amateurs and power users who would prefer to create Flickr mashups and other mashups by dragging and dropping rather than coding?

It's not a criticism of this edition of the book, because I know that it was published too early to pay any serious attention to these new mashup environments. But I think that a future edition could show how mere mortals can display Flickr images using Microsoft Popfly, or incorporate them in an RSS feed using Yahoo! Pipes.
