Flidgywumper

Overview

This book, written in rhyme, is fun to read aloud to children who love to hear the adventures of Flidgywumper -- an old, but very wise green fish -- and his many imaginative undersea friends. Children will not only delight in getting to know the characters and situations needing the help of Flidgywumper, but will appreciate the "tempo and tambour" -- the nuances and versaility of the language as the story is told. Chapter One

Down under the sea, where the strangest things are is a green Flidgywumper, who's traveled quite far.

He's a very old creature, who's become very wise. All the other things there come to him for advise.

He tells them all patiently just what to do, like the time he helped Schwerple, who'd lost his left shoe.

He told him quite simply, "Lose the other shoe too".

Many undersea creatures dropped by for the sale, but not one of the shoes would fit onto one tail!

Glordum was soon discouraged and sad because his new business had gone very bad.

It was fortunate though that old Flidgy stopped by at the moment poor Glordum had started to cry.

This idea was successful, needless to say, so he opened two stores out in Goonerspin Bay.

Glordum kept busy each day in his store. He had no leisure time to complain anymore.
